From Amazon.com

Alien Agenda is the silk thread leading the way through the maze of UFO literature into the heart of the UFO controversy. While he begins with the premise that the existence of UFOs cannot be denied, Jim Marrs (author of Crossfire, the mother of all John F. Kennedy assassination conspiracy books) boldly strides into the battle over what UFOs are and why they are here. Marrs's investigative skills are invaluable in this re-examination of questions that have been overlooked, unaddressed, or unsatisfactorily resolved. --Ce texte provient d'une édition qui n'est plus publiée ou qui est non diponible.

From Booklist

Jim Marrs is best known for Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy (1989), the book that Oliver Stone's film JFK was partially based on. Now Marrs attacks new mysteries and conspiracies in this extensive review of UFO history and government cover-ups. After describing his own UFO sighting near Jackson, Mississippi, in 1952, Marrs recounts his involvement with other UFO cases as a newspaper reporter and his suspicions that the U.S. government knows much more about aliens than it will admit. As his title indicates, the author has concluded that UFOs are piloted by extraterrestrials of various types and with diverse motives. However, rather than taking that conclusion for granted, Marrs guides his readers through 50 years of UFO history that includes some less-traveled byways, off-ramps, and dead ends. He incorporates an ample amount of information from UFO books of the 1960s and 1970s--strange lights on the moon, the ancient-astronaut theories of Erich von Daniken, cattle mutilations, Nazi saucers at the South Pole, the contactees of the 1950s--and updates it credibly with UFO data from the 1980s and 1990s, providing a reasonable survey of abductions, secret underground UFO bases, the MJ-12 group, crop circles, remote viewing, and channeling. How can something as momentous as contact with aliens be kept secret? In an appendix, Marrs refers to the Bilderbergers and the Council on Foreign Relations as examples of how small groups of powerful individuals can withhold information and manipulate world events. The facts are mostly accurate, and the writing is crisp and journalistic. George Eberhart --Ce texte provient d'une édition qui n'est plus publiée ou qui est non diponible.

5.0étoiles sur 5 A stimulating 'Introduction to Alien Studies.', Avril 7 2001
Par tepi "tepi" - Voir tous mes commentaires
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
Jim Marrs, to anyone who reads him with care, is clearly a sane, balanced, intelligent and fair-minded writer who writes very well indeed. In 'Alien Agenda' he has given us a comprehensive and well- documented survey which would make a suitable 'Introduction to Alien Studies' for the compulsory course all freshmen ought to be required to take if the universities had more courage.

The book draws on a wide range of testimony, much of it from scholars of repute and from fairly distinguished representatives of the military and scientific elite who have chosen to speak out. Yet despite this great wealth of valuable and authentic high-level testimony from those who feel that we have a right to know what is going on in our own world, society remains filled with nay-sayers who flatteringly describe themselves as "skeptics," and who go about thumping their chests while proudly proclaiming "I do not believe in aliens!"

It is because of this widespread negative mindset that Marrs' book, like most others of its kind, must politely deal with all the wild clutchings at alternative explanations - e.g., UFOs as light reflected from the butts of passing ducks, etc., - which pass for serious thought in the skeptical fraternity. But what is a "skeptic" other than a person whose mind is closed to any new knowledge which strays too far from the orthodox Newtonian-Darwinian paradigm? It is the skeptics themselves, simple souls, who are the True Believers, believers in the reductionist ideology which those in power see fit to promote at this time. Collectively they become horrifying proof of the efficiency of an educational system and a media that exist, not to create thinking and responsible citizens, but to enforce a sort of herd mentality. What the "skeptics" fail to realize is that when everyone thinks the same, no-one is thinking.

When not having to deal with the unending stream of nonsense spouted by "skeptics" - Marrs book becomes very interesting indeed. It will appeal strongly to open-minded readers who may not yet have read widely in Alien Studies and who are still trying to puzzle out the truth. It certainly provided me with a lot of the missing pieces.

'Alien Agenda' is a well-printed and illustrated paperback of 434 pages which includes, besides an Introduction, Appendix, detailed list of Sources and an excellent Index, twelve chapters which cover such things as: The Greatest UFO?; Ancient Astronauts; Military Observers; UFOs Underground; Face-to-Face; Death from the Sky; Going in Circles; A Metaphysical Exam, etc.

For me, one of the most fascinating chapters was Chapter 1 - 'The Greatest UFO? This surveys the evidence, some of it brought back by our own moon missions, for the moon as being an artificial satellite and space base, hollowed-out and given a hardened titanium and rustless iron shell, towed into the solar system perhaps 12,000 years ago by galactic engineers who placed it in a highly unnatural orbit around the earth, home of unusual lights, gaseous and water-vapor emissions, strange artificial structures both below and above the surface with some of those on the surface towering many miles high, scene of constant activities which look suspiciously like mining, surface repair work, bridge-building, etc., much of which is being observed and reported on by our astronomers - or, in short, evidence for the moon as being a currently inhabited alien space base.

Also fascinating was the Native American account in Chapter 2 of a crashed saucer, and of the alien survivor they wisely rescued and nursed back to health before the military had a chance to get hold of him. What the alien told them of earth's history, and of the rivalry between various alien groups for the control of earth, serves in a striking way to confirm much of what Zechariah Sitchin has pieced together from Ancient Sumerian and Babylonian texts, and adds considerably to our understanding of more recent developments.

In short, Marrs' book is a stimulating and valuable read for concerned and open-minded readers who would like to penetrate the veil of "official lies, disinformation, and deceit" which surrounds this subject. Skeptics, of course, should avoid it. Even if they were accosted by an alien in the street, whisked off on a trip to the moon, returned to earth and had their noses punched for good measure, so resistant are they to new knowledge they would no doubt conclude that it must all have been the doing of some joker in fancy dress.

5.0étoiles sur 5 Get ready. They're here., Aoû 13 1999

Pages For All Ages is Illinois largest independent bookstore. Our metaphysical reading group at Pages read Alein Agenda this month of August. Jim Marrs has written a classic on the subject of UFOs and the Alien presence among us. The Greys, the Martians, and the Transcendentals are here and always have been. Although the author is objective, it is at once obvious that a cover up of incredible proportions has been taking place. Our group was fascinated by the multiplicity of species in the universe and other dimensions. And to some degree, we actually filled in some parts of the Alien puzzle. Several people in the group recounted their own Alien experiences. This book is deserving of five stars for its objectivity, its scope, and especially for its bibliography and references. Every person in the group was in full agreement that there has been a massive government coverup about the Alien presence. There was some lively debate as to why this is being covered up. One idea from the book was put forward that Aliens are working in cooperation with secret elements of the U.S. government and other governments of the world. They are also in contact with the most wealthy and powerful people in the world. Most of the group disagreed with that idea in that most Alien contact occurs with common folk like us. Another idea that seemed to make the most sense is that there is disinformation because the government knows we are helpless before this technology and when the full truth is known it will shake our belief systems as to who we are as a species to the ground. When it is discovered that the Alien presence has been engaged with human beings for hundreds of millions of years, on this very planet, it will strike a mighty blow to the cosmology of the monotheistic religions, cause panic, thus destabilizing society. But our group thought that people would not react in a panic for long. Our hope is that they treat us better than we treated the Indians. Yet it was agreed that the world population was out of control and our destruction of the environment spelled serious consequences for the world as we know it now. Mankind can't depend on forces outside themselves to change this planet, but must be done internally. Thus, the Greys are creating a new Alien hybrid with both our genes. Let's hope that this development can lead humanity from the brink of disaster and enter a golden age, embraced by a universe of advanced life forms. Did I say Five Stars? Give it Six.

4.0étoiles sur 5 Wide in scope and exceptionally well written., Juil 31 1999

Our metaphysical reading group at Pages for All Ages in Illinois, chose Alien Agenda as our book for August. After our meeting we will rate the book and give you the consensus of our group critique. As leader of this group, I read it first. Here is my personal critique. Having had very profound personal and actual experiences with UFOs, I was hoping this would not be a farce like the fudamentalist Christian tripe found in the book Alien Encounters. I was not disappointed. Jim Marrs is a fine writer. As an investigator, he managed to present nearly every conceivable viewpoint without eclipsing the work with his own opinion. When he begins with the idea that the moon may be hollow and makes an intriguing case for that wild idea, you know you're in for a good read. Since NASA sent one of their craft purposely crashing into the moon this very morning, we will see if it really rings like a bell when struck. Some areas were too drawn out, but that is to be forgiven because the author tried very hard to make his points. The only area that he missed was the Buddhist connection. The Vedas symbology of UFOs was included, but if the author would have had the wealth of esoteric information found in the ancient Buddhist texts, his scenario would have been complete. The God described by the remote viewers accords most perfectly with the dharma or Law described in the title of the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha's highest teaching. I highly recommend this book for those wanting a serious treatment of the UFOs and the alien agenda.
