So Let It Be Rotten, So Let It Be Done!!!, July 18 2011

Anyone reading this review is probably already familiar with Exhumed, but for those who've never heard, Exhumed is a death metal/goregrind institution that has been splattering listeners' entrails for almost 16 years, give or take a long hiatus after 2003's Anatomy is Destiny album. They are one of the best, if not the best, at what they do which is continue Carcass' bloody path that was laid out after 1991's Necroticism: Descanting the Insolubrious. What sets them apart from every other Carcass clone is a distinct vocal style, that near everyone nowadays has co-opted, and a penchant for the thrashier side of grindcore. Obviously the main lyrical focus and basically the entire genre's focus, is violent death, and Exhumed dispense the sickness with aplomb...(look it up). Their giddy interpretation of genre staples, revitalizes your death metal palette. These guys are having fun playing this, and it's apparent from the opening track all the way through. This album is so full of those moments that only death metal provides; the ones where the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and you're forced to thrash like a maniac, that you may like this more than the source material it is derived from! If you like anything by Carcass, Aborted, Cattle Decapitation, The Black Dahlia Murder, Dying Fetus, Pathology, Autopsy, or Cannibal Corpse you have to hear this!!! If you like thrash like Exodus, Havok, Toxic Holocaust, or Slayer, this may convince you to give Death metal and Grindcore a chance! This is a great return, better than previous albums, and better than most Death metal today!

GOIN' THRU DA GOREGRIND MOTIONS, Feb 9 2012

this cali four-piece has been doing this since 1990. And it is only their first album in almost 8 years and only 5th album of their entire career. After such a long-run at this funeral home of cookie-monster/non-threatening rasp dual-vocals, I'm impressed that they are still putting forth a semi-solid bacterial growth; even if it's a half-cocked, muddily mixed creation from the weird uncles who reek of formaldehyde. (And you thought that was me who stank)
