5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Need of All Nov. 10 2003
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This has got to be one of the most beautiful love stories that I have read in a long time. As an avid reader of romance novels for the past 30 years that is saying quite a mouthful, but do not just believe me, find out for yourself. This book is a must read for all historical romance lovers. It is a marvelous story that takes the reader across the vast plains of 1892 Texas following the trail of a suspected murderer. It is a tender love story with characters that are simply unforgettable. Casey Stratton needs to prove to her father Chandos that she is capable of doing any job that a man can do. To prove this she cuts her hair, puts on men's clothing, and runs away in the middle of the night to begin a career that only a man can do, become a successful bounty hunter. Damian Rutledge III came west with an important need of his own, to find the man that murdered his father. As green as they come he is totally lost until he runs across the campfire of a young boy who claims to be a bounty hunter and calls himself simply Kid. Who could be better than a professional bounty hunter to help him find a murderer? So with the remarkable tracking ability that Kid learned from his father, and not to mention even a faster draw, the chase begins. But Damian is not quite the tenderfoot that Kid believes him to be and KId is not exactly what Damian thought he was either. It does not take Damian long to discover that underneath Kid's dirty clothes is a very beautiful young woman, Casey Stratton. Ride along with these two unforgettable people as they discover for themselves the greatest need of all, that where love is concerned "All I Need is You."

4.0 out of 5 stars Good sequel to 'A Heart So Wild'!!! July 23 2003
Format:Mass Market Paperback
While I will admit to liking a Heart So Wild a little better than this one, I still found this book to be good. Not great, but good. Casey is kind of annoying, but, all in all I gave this book fours stars because I loved the storyline and Damien....need I say anything about this gorgeous hunk of man who can do anything!!!!! Read this book. You will like it, even if not as much as some of JL's other books.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Lindsey Ever June 19 2003
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I can't believe that THIS book was the follow-up to Lindsey's blockbuster "A Heart So Wild." Casey's dad Chandos was a man to fall madly in love with. Unfortunately, this story's "hero" (or "zero") is a WIMP. Casey is totally annoying. I also didn't like the way Casey got away with everything. If Lindsey had stayed true to Chandos' character, then he would NEVER have let her go bounty-hunting with some strange man. Overall, this is a major disappointment. If you see this book, run in the opposite direction!

3.0 out of 5 stars Cowgirl and City Boy Feb. 13 2003
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Casey Straton is out to prove something to her dad - that she as a woman could run the ranch she and her siblings have inherited just fine. To do so, she has run away from home (yeah, real mature) and taken up bounty hunting. No dummy, she wears mens outfits and has cut her hair short - although she's never SAID she's a male, she knows that is the impression that others get from her new look.
Damian Rutledge III has come west seeking revenge and needs to find a criminal and take him to justice. However, the West is harsh on 'greenhorns' and he soon finds himself in need of the assistance of the bounty hunter they call 'Kid'.
How Damian stumbles across Casey, how they travel together in search of bounty and find more than they bargain for is told with Lindsey's customary charm and ability with romance. I found the tale to be a gentle romance with a light touch of steaminess, I doubt any of which would offend. It didn't exactly rock my world, but it did keep me interested from start to finish.

3.0 out of 5 stars A "Pass the time" Book Sept. 25 2002
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This particular book had a very slow start up. In the previous novels I have read by Johanna Lindsey, by Chapter 3-4 I was wanting more. In this case, it was a task just picking up the book. It got exciting midway, then it got long and drawn out again. I just wanted to finish and get it over with. Not one of her best works. If your are home on a Sunday with nothing else better to do, this book will probably help you pass the time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story, but little romance March 10 2002
Format:Mass Market Paperback
What I really miss in this story is the chance to get to know the persons better. Instead they remain strangers, and I really don't care whether they get together or not. The story though is so exciting that I still managed to finish the book.
Casey Straton goes bounty hunting in an attempt to convince her father about her abilities to run her grandfathers ranch. After some months, Damien Ruthledge, businessman and city boy, stumbles into her camp. Not knowing her to be a woman, but amaced by her abilities with a gun, he hires her to hunt down the man who killed his father.
