Combines classical Irish Surnames with modern Mapping Jan. 21 2014
By Gerard Corcoran - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book combines the classical Irish Surnames of MacLysagh and Wolfe with modern mapping techniques to produce a practical guide for anyone interested in Irish Genealogy. It makes use of the the 1992 phone directory and postal codes to display a modern day map of over 200 Irish surnames. I would like to see the next version incorporate older data sets such as the full 1901 or 1911 census or partial 1841 or 1891 census.

I have lent this book out so often I wonder if it is mine when I see it!
Of interest to Irish and Scottish ancestry I would say. Accurate as far as I can tell!
Arrived in good time and excellent condition!
No faulting it for what it is!

Poorly titled Aug. 1 2013
By GrammaAnn - Published on Amazon.com

The title suggested to me that my common Irish surname would be found inside, but alas it was not. I asked Amazon for a return authorization but they simply credited my account and told me to keep or give away the book which I plan to do.

I could've gotten it from a site without the graphs inside, but purchased it instead. It does serve it's purpose and will be used when I get to the Irish side of the family genealogy.
