4.0 out of 5 stars Great variety of projects Oct 30 2011
By Kim Jamieson-Hirst TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
If you love scrap quilts, you'll enjoy this book which includes 18 designs from previous books published by That Patchwork Place. The quilts in this book use a variety of techniques, from piecing to foundation piecing to appliqué. Complete instructions are provided for all of the projects and there is a reference area with information on all the techniques included as well. You'll find stars, 4-patch blocks, pinwheels and diamonds in these quilts and the majority of the projects are for intermediate quilters. A great book with a wide variety of quilts.

Absolutely one of the best books for finding projects that scrap pieces can be used for. There were, contrary to other books, very few quilt patterns that I would not try from this book. Well written, understood easily, and a great buy. Quick service also.
5.0 out of 5 stars A stash saving book Dec 12 2011
By Barbara Rhoades - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
My scrap stash has threatened to take over my sewing room so I went looking for a book to help me solve the problem. Of the 18 patterns, I found 10 that I thought were truly scrap quilts. The other 8 patterns could be considered scrap quilts if you had an over-abundance of a certain color or two.

These patterns come from various designers and I love them all. Each has a photo of the quilt, and a paragraph about it. Finished quilt and block sizes are given, along with a materials and cutting lists that are easy to follow.

Next comes a tip box that is set off in color. The directions for putting the blocks together have enough graphics to help you make sure you are reading the directions correctly. There are no specific directions given for how to quilt it.

Eleven pages provide quilting basics and there is a final page that gives a bio about each quilt designer. All in all, this is a life-saving book for me before hubby throws me and all the scraps out the door!
