The film Almost Famous is set in 1973, a time when rock and roll was about to evolve into a lumbering, arena-conquering dinosaur. Director Cameron Crowe--who was himself a teenage rock journalist for Rolling Stone magazine--has applied his own first-hand knowledge of the 1970s rock scene and co-produced a soundtrack that neatly encapsulates an era in rock and roll history. Contributions from Simon and Garfunkel ("America") and the Beach Boys ("Feel Flows") nod to a gentler musical scene on its way out, while tracks by Lynyrd Skynyrd ("Simple Man"), the Allman Brothers Band ("One Way Out") and Led Zeppelin ("That's The Way") indicate the shape of rock to come. Meanwhile, David Bowie's version of "I'm Waiting for the Man" hints at the glam scene lurking just around the corner, and Clarence Thomas's "Slip Away" provides an example of perfect 1970s soul. Even Almost Famous's fictitious house band, Stillwater, contribute a track: the nicely retro, guitar-rocking "Fever Dog". --Robert Burrow

Basée sur l'autobiographie du metteur en scène Cameron Crowe, Almost Famous revisite la période 1965-1975 en faisant appel aux principaux groupes de l'époque. Peu de liens musicaux entre eux mais plutôt une nostalgie aux inspirations extrêmement variées. On passe ainsi allègrement du très soft "America" de Simon & Garkunkel au plus provocateur "Sparks" des Who. Autres registres, même effets : "Feel I Flows" des Beach Boys et "That's The Way" de Led Zeppelin. Il est en de même avec Cat Stevens, David Bowie ou Elton John. La bande originale de Almost Famous fait cependant quelques entorses à l'évocation d'une période avec l'anamorphosé "Simple Man" De Lynyrd Skynyrd ou plus simplement le seul extrait de la partition, le folk "Lucky Trumble" de la compositrice Nancy Wilson. i have a question that is proving to be hard to answer. in the part where there in the Continental hyatt house and there in the hallway and the pass a room with a man and woman singing and playing guitar and the lyrics are "please stay i want to hear you play" but it's not on the sound track or listed anywhere elsedoes anyone know what the name of the song is or who sings it?
