My Favourite Christmas Album of All Time,

There might not be many traditionals here, but that is OK. Hawksley writes songs that sound so classic, that they are as good as any traditionals you can think of. Hawksley is a genius when it comes to melody, and strangely enough this has become arguably his best album. It's so good that it doesn't have to be Christmas. You can play this any time of year for a rollicking good time. Just listen to "Claire Fontaine", a song I usually present to my overseas friends as representative of the best of Canadian music. And they have no idea it's a Christmas song.Other highlights include "Three Generations", with some warm funny lyrics. I love the reference to the Elvis Christmas album, a tradition in many households. Also great was his version of "Silent Night" and...ahh heck, every song is great. Every single one. Please note, this is really more of an EP than an album due to running time, but don't let that disuade you. Money well spent, this is. I've bought the album twice already. 5 stars.

This is possibly my favorite Christmas album ever. Hawksley Workman weaves words into amazing stories that send my memory soaring back to Christmases past and my imagination working overtime. A must, to be sure.

A beautiful album with concise, infectious, sexy and imperfect songs that make you want to jump around in your socks whilst eating marshmallows and peanut butter. Common Cold is my a personal favourite, but each of the songs are full of charm. An instant remedy for the winter blues. A jewel of an album.

One of my favorite cds. It has a great mix of fun songs, lovely ballad, and simply well done music.
