Usually when it comes to reviews, I tend to rate the book the same amount of stars that it has received on Amazon. However, for this book, I have to give it a 5 instead of a 3.5
I really liked the main character in this book - John/Four. I'm a girl, and I rarely read books from a male perspective but I am going through a dystopian obsession so I decided to check I Am Number Four out. I LOVED it. John is a great main character, and a really nice guy (not a total douche-bag at all.) I really enjoyed reading about his father/son, mentor/student relationship with Henri. I felt like it was really well written and was one of the best parts of the book. I also liked John's new best friend, Sam. I felt like Sarah was a bit of a flat character, but John IS a teenage boy and seemed more preoccupied with her looks than personality, so...
The suspense was great and so was the action. It was really hard for me to put down (I only did so once.) I even teared up a bit at the end, for reasons which I will not say. The ending really set it up for a great sequel, and The Power of Six is even better. Like WAY better. Definitely check out I Am Number Four!
