Magical Christmas,

Enya's music continues to captivate me, over these many years. I'm still listening to CD #2 even after Christmas. I love the song "Christmas Secrets". Enya's angelic voice adds lustre to Adeste Fideles and We Wish You A Merry Christmas. I wish Enya would make an entire album of Christmas songs. Even some more traditional Gaelic Christmas/New Year songs would be great. In the mean time, enjoy Amarantine and the 4 songs on CD 2. Well worth it, and if you're not an Enya fan yet, you will become one!

Rip Off,

I am very disappointed to find that this is just the CD Amarantine but with a Christmas cover. I took off the plastic wrap and found that the CD case was within another cover. When I removed the nice 'Special Christmas Edition' cover, underneath was just the Amarantine CD that I already have. I had checked this out carefully, having being fooled by her other Christmas Cd that has only four songs. Because the cover looked different, I did not realize it was a repeat. This was a rip off. I am very disgusted with the marketing of her CD's and I am no longer interested in buying Enya's CD's.

Beautiful repackaging.,

Most of the time, I am against repackaging..but this was done so tastefully that I couldn't resist. The CD comes with the slipcover and on the inside, the CD looks like the regular Amarantine CD with the Christmas songs on a second disc (I believe one disc is red, the other blue) If you don't have the four new Christmas songs, this would be the best way to get them. It's the best way to get Amarantine if you don't have the entire album as well. Enya fans, even if you have the Amarantine album, this is still worth a purchase. As for the songs, look no further for Christmas music, this is it..her version of Adeste Fideles is one, if not the best and The Magic of the Night is an upbeat tune. Christmas Secrets is a heartfelt song, and We Wish You A Merry Christmas is definitely the best I've heard, she takes that song, makes it her own, and nails it. As for the Amarantine album, I believe she did a nice job with it, her experimentation with Loxian may not be for everyone, but if you really know her music, you'll know it's heartfelt no matter what language it's in.

This release includes the Album Amarantine and a bonus disk with four Christmas songs on it, including We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Christmas Secrets, Adeste Fideles and The Magic of The Night. Amarantine is a powerful album that showcases Enya's voice like never before. The beginning track, Less Than A Pearl is a wonderful moving piece that has a great flow of Enya's traditional multi-vocal layering sound, the song is a masterpiece. From there you are taken on a journey about Love (Amarantine) to listening to the rain in It's in The Rain (Another masterpiece) to the thunderous Loxian (Gaelic feeling) wanting to make you dance song (The River Sings), the journey continues with Long, Long, Journey and into a final, beautiful and captivating song "Water Shows The Hidden Heart" which is by far one of Enya's best slow songs. This album is reminiscent of Shepherd Moons especially in the use of instrumentation, as well as A Day Without Rain with the use of Pizzicato in the song Amarantine. Yet it combines some new sounds, some rolling drums in Less Than A Pearl, wonder piano arpeggios in It's in The Rain, and subtle, beautiful and light Shepherd Moon's sounding instrumentation in Water Show The Hidden Heart. There is a place only Enya can take you. The Enya "sound" is unique, there will never be another enya. A must have for any fan and makes a great Christmas present for ages 5 -100.

A mix of Loxian and English tunes. For the ENYA fan -- she is marvelous. For my hubby(who is into fantasy games)the Loxian tunes are a mood setter. And with a Christmas bonus to boot, you can be year round happy with this purchase.
