I am an unapologetic Enya fan. I have all her albums. Enya's newest album continues seamlessly from "A day Without Rain." Sometimes soaring as grandly as the wind on the open sea, sometimes as intimate as a fireside conversation, it will thrill Enya's fans. It doesn't really explore new and revolutionary territory, but that's not what Enya's music is about. It is meant to be familiar and comfortable, yet new enough to keep the listener engaged. This album is successful on both points. If you loved her previous works, this will not disappoint.
My personal favourites are "The River Sings" a wonderful chanting piece that speaks of a magical world apart from ours; and "Sumiregusa" where her pure voice soars free. Enya has carved out a unique niche for herself in modern music, she is an oasis in a vapid wasteland where sampled-from-other-artists is hailed as groundbreaking and original. Enya is a true original, above and beyond the rest of the world of popular music.
A must buy for all her fans. Dim the lights, brew some tea and let yourself be transported away to magical musical place.
