HASH(0x9e64f5d0) out of 5 stars This should be the FIRST book you "buy" to learn DynamoDB May 13 2015

Back when I was a young beginning programmer in the last century, every product and language came with a "Developer Guide" and a "Language Referene". Today most tech vendors publish info on the web -- and most don't keep it up-to-date so I often seem to be reading obsolete information.

It's nice to see Amazon putting togetehr such a comprehensive guide with examples, advice and best practice guidance in an "old school book" format. Great book, must read for anyone using DynamoDB.

HASH(0x9e64f81c) out of 5 stars Very good Jan. 5 2014

I really like Amazon web services and DynamicDB (5 stars for that)

But this review is for the Developer guide. I think the guide could use more examples. I was able to decipher what I need, but it could be more comprehensive, especially considering it is a kindle edition so space is not much of a factor. But in the end, I was able to learn what I needed to know, and kindle format is great.
HASH(0x9e64f7e0) out of 5 stars Perfect way to learn what the service does March 2 2016

Love this book. Even though it focuses on an Amazon service, it has good transferable knowledge that you can use when doing any no-sql table design. The code samples are extensive and are probably useful, though I found myself skipping most of them during my first read; I think I'll refer to them if/when I start working with the DB.
One complaint I have about the kindle version is that (at least on the Windows machine) the font size in tables is almost too small to read and you can't zoom it. The rest of the text is fine though and so are the diagrams.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to quickly understand what the service offers and get more info on good table design. It is not complete by any means in terms of table design, but it will help.

Very well written and explained. Very useful. You can use it as a help how-to guide and reference as well.

HASH(0x9e64fb34) out of 5 stars Nice to be able to get the guides as a book June 1 2013

Nice to be able to get the guides as a book, but they really need to more updated. Also, the guide is not really formated for a kindle and does make the code sections very hard to read.
