5.0 out of 5 stars Beware, ________(Insert Bully's Name Here)! Mar 13 2013

Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Amelia's "notebooks" are the stuff. Jam-packed with emotions, pic and thought doodles, and real-life scenarios, these books always offer insight into how to handle life, kid-style. They are executed in a journal fashion, and even inspired my daughter to add doodles in her own journal notebooks. Adds pizazz while being therapeutic. I purchased this above selection specifically because my daughter has been having trouble with bullies since second grade. (She is now in fourth.) As the Amazon blurb states, Amelia is having trouble with a classmate. When she attends space camp (it's not as geeky as it sounds), she again has to deal with kids that are overbearing and rude. Amelia learns how to deal with it by listening to her inner voice (not as corny as it sounds). She also wows the camp bunch with her space skills in the process. When she returns to school after her short vacation, her bully is still goin' strong- so strong that grabbing, lying, and accusations of cheating are involved. Amelia commandeers her inner voice, and the bully is toast. This book does not end on a sappy note in which the bully and Amelia become BFF's. And I like that. Anyway, this book helps my daughter deal, and I like that, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book but Jun 23 2011

i really enjoyed this book as a child (and even now, 10 years later). I am collecting the Amelia series and i found that this is the same exact book as the "Amelia Takes Command" book. So if you're collecting, note that this is the same book, just with a different title.

From my 9-year-old daughter who read this book (I got it for her 9th birthday):

Amelia's notebooks are so much fun especially because there are so many adventures in them. I wish that other people will like them.
