What's funnier than American Dad on television? American Dad on DVD. This three-disc set contains the 14 consistently funny episodes that conclude season 4. Rollicking audio commentaries, even more fun when they digress and completely ignore the episode at hand, are provided for each. There is a generous serving of so-called deleted scenes that are more accurately deleted jokes. Where warranted, episodes are presented either as televised or uncensored. "We don't work blue, that's the lazy man's comedy," comedy geek Steve proclaims at one point, but beware stray F-bombs that seem as if the writers just want to make sure you're paying attention. And American Dad requires pretty strict attention to catch the dizzying mélange of lowbrow and highbrow humor, meta-gags, scattershot pop culture references, and celebrity disses. Standout episodes include "Bar Mitzvah Hustle," featuring Seth Green as a wealthy spoiled rival for Steve's plus-size girlfriend, Debbie; "Wife Insurance," in which Stan (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) reveals he has picked a backup wife in case of Francine's death; and "Daddy Queerest," in which Stan is compelled to pose as gay. Extraterrestrial Roger (MacFarlane) has two of his better outings, "The Wiener of Our Discontent," in which he discovers that he was not, as he thought, sent to our planet to be "The Decider" on whether or not the Earth is destroyed, and "Phantom of the Telethon," in which he sabotages Stan's telethon for the CIA to raise funds for the agency's torture program. While not as reckless an offender as Family Guy, American Dad is not averse to violating character integrity for the sake of a good joke. In "Wife Insurance," ultra-right-wing warrior Stan bawls like a baby when captured by arms smugglers, and Francine (Wendy Schaal), a traditional homemaker not up on current events and who doesn't even know how to vote, gets off a good Che Guevara gag. And in "Every Which Way But Lose," feminist daughter Hayley (Rachael MacFarlane) is revealed to be a prize-winning baker ("It's not what you think," she tries to cover when caught, "I'm making meth"). American Dad, too, often crosses the PC line, but Steve is no doubt speaking for MacFarlane and company when, after one of his jokes offends, he proclaims, "Apologize for being hilarious? Never." --Donald Liebenson

5.0 out of 5 stars Episode List and Features Information, April 24 2010

I noticed that as of Today(4/24/10) Amazon has the incorrect information listed as far as the episodes and features on this set. The information they have( again, as of 4/24, for all I know they could change it by the time you read it ) is actually from the Family Guy Volume 5 set. Here is the info for this set:

Disc 1

Phantom of the Telethon
Chimdale
Stan Time
Family Affair
Live and Let Fry
Roy Rogers McFreely

Disc 2

Jack's Back
Bar Mitzvah Hustle
Wife Insurance
The Delorean Story-an
Every Which Way But Loose
The Wiener of our Discontent

Disc 3

Daddy Queerest
Stan's Night Out
Bonus Features: Deleted Scenes and Power Hour Drinking Game

And as always, there will be commentary by the staff for every episode.

Now, my literary and reviewing talents are not great, so I won't give you a long in depth review of the episodes. But I can say that I have liked the show from the beginning, and these episodes are as good as ever. If you like the show, you'll like this set. If you are just a fan of the other animated shows, comedy shows in general, satire, or just a fan of random 80's references, you will also like the show. Hope the info helped.

UPDATE: Got the set today, a few days after I had planned, unfortunately. In addition to the bonus features listed, on Disc 2 there is a Fact Up version of Bar Mitzvah Hustle. For those not familiar with what that is( I really wasn't either) Basically you can watch the episode, and as you watch little facts about the episode (or related to the episode in some way) pop up every few seconds. Kinda like those old VH1 Pop up videos. I thought it was pretty interesting and neat, and fans of the show should enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most underrated cartoon on TV, Aug 18 2011

I don't understand why this show isn't more popular. Its writing is fantastic its characters are likeable and creative. I can't rave enough about this show and it just seems to get better with each season. A must buy for anyone who is a fan of Family guy but the show has a little more structure and feels more well rounded. I've watched this season alone about 10 times through and it still makes me laugh every time. I put it on before bed and fall asleep happy every night.

5.0 out of 5 stars LMAO at this, April 2 2012
By Bernadette - Published on Amazon.com
Rude crude humor at it's best, mocking right wing goofballs in Washington, and flaming gay silliness with a gay alien living in the attic. No holds barred laughs, shockingly funny,
not recommended for the prim and proper set with a sense of boundaries.

This show has improved vastly as time has gone on unlike The Simpsons which should have
ended when it was ahead. I didn't watch it at all at first because I didn't like the
way the characters looked but when I finally took a peek at it I couldn't stop laughing.

Offers some much needed humor in the all too grim and conservative times we live in.
Thumbs it's nose at much that is a bit horrifying to some of us.
