A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I am eleven and I really liked this book. I was recently at a used book sale and bought "American Family of the Civil War Era". I liked it, so I bought "American Family of the 1930s" and "American Family of the 1940s". The people of 1930 come permanently in swimsuits which my mom prefers over underwear. The only bad thing about this book is that you have to cut them out (they are not punched). They are worth it, though. If you are wondering which to buy I would tell you "American Family of the 1940s". That's my personal favorite because the three teenagers have such cool clothes.

I highly enjoyed this paper doll book. It's a great way to learn about fashion and history, in a fun and easy setting. I recommend this to anyone who would like a little taste of what people wore in the 40s.

5.0 out of 5 stars Colorful Visual Reference Aug. 23 2007
By R. Moe - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I purchased several of Tom Tierney's historical paper doll sets to augment my family history projects. I have 150 years of family photos which are mostly in black and white, of course, so it's great to see the period clothing in detail and in color. The paper dolls will add so much to my research and my family's appreciation of the historical times and stories. Although I intend to keep the paper dolls uncut, they are printed on card stock which would be easy to cut and not tear apart if well-cared for.

I really love this family paper doll set. So cool. Don't like the ideal of having to cut out everything. You get a lot of outfits in the book and it is a fun book.
