Works as designed Jan. 29 2014

I paid $95 all in which is a very good price for this unit. The thermostatic function works as designed. The water temperature remains constant when the pressure drops due to valves being turned on (washing machine, dishwasher, faucets, etc ) elsewhere in the house. Factory preset is 108 degrees max temp but you can adjust it according to the spec sheet (I didn't do this) for 112 degrees max if desired. I'm getting about 6 GPM from this unit but I think that may be a limitation of my plumbing or perhaps a mixing limitation or both. I get about 9 GPM from another faucet that doesn't have a mixing valve so I'm not sure to get maximum GPM from this unit. Unit is stamped Made in Germany

Broken thread March 29 2014
By Tony - Published on Amazon.com

The valve was defective when I got it. This was installed inside the wall (and tile over it) with the stem sticking out for attachment to the knob. When everything was ready for attaching the control knob, the thread inside was broken. Majority of the valve stem is made of plastic. Why? I have no idea. Called American Standard and they said the broken part will arrive 7-10 days. And now my bathroom is delayed. I will give a full review whenever the product gets here. What happened to QA prior to putting the product out? Not everybody is a plumber that can easily detect this kind of defect.

Buyer Beware - Used Part!!!! Jan. 9 2015

When my plumber went to install he showed me that there was water inside the valve. As he poured it out we saw rust everywhere. I am buying locally and I don't care if it costs more.
