5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent rare viola repertoire, Dec 10 2001
By
Ross Christensen (Morden, Manitoba, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: American Viola Works: Rochberg, Jacobi Et Al (Audio CD)
Cathy Basrak is one of many young violists on the scene today. She does an excellent job on her debut CD by presenting works not often heard today. Some of the works are even first recordings. If you love the viola and hunger for new or rare repertoire like I do, then this CD is for you. The works span the years 1940 to 1984. Some have a contemporary sound but are still quite accessible. A real gem of a find.
