5.0 out of 5 stars Gutter screws to replace nails Aug 13 2007

I installed 30 with a power screwdriver with great success. They replace spikes with and without spirals. Only issue was the torx bit tended to slip in the torx head of the screw.
My old spikes were so loose that some could be removed with the fingers. Installing new screws at every other location seemed to work OK except at the corners of the house where the downspout added extra load. Also, hanging christmas lights on the gutter has paid the price on my old spikes so these screws help a lot.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, poorly painted screw heads April 12 2013

These worked well to repair my sagging gutter that my landlord never seemed to get around to fixing. With my Makita impact driver they went in quickly and easily. Note the head is a square drive, so if you don't own one you'll need to order one as well.

I kind of wish they were a little longer (1/2" or so) to go further into the wood, but tugging on the gutter with moderate force didn't pull it out of the wood. I doubt these are stainless so rust may be an issue down the road, but at least they don't pull out as easy as aluminum nails and they're cheaper than the "hidden" screw hangers you can buy. These are all small issues.

I'd give it 5 stars if the screw heads were powder coated or at least painted well enough they don't come out of the box already scratched. Didn't really matter for my application but other people may care.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product Aug 3 2012

The ice pulled the original nails right out of my gutters and left them hanging by a thread.

I pulled the nails out with my hands and replaced them with the gutter screws. They pulled my gutters up tight. In fact, if you do not use the included sleeve on the screw, it'll pull up so tight it will bend the gutter in half.

The hardest part of the job was getting up on the ladder to the gutter. Have a powerful cordless driver to put the screws in.

The bad part about the product is the quality control. Almost all the screws I bought were missing the white paint from the exposed end. I had to touch each one up. It was a cheap paint job and these should have never made it out for sale. I would have returned them, but I needed to reattach my gutters as soon as possible.
