Although a very attractive book, with clear, easy to follow instructions, it is not my favourite Amy Butler book. I've made a couple of the cosmetic bags and found that I've downloaded free patterns that have turned out nicer. Out of the twelve projects, there are probably four I would consider making. I love that it's spiral bound, so it stays open where you want it to and it comes with pattern pieces. I do wish the type was a little darker and bolder, I find myself having to squint sometimes to see it. Amy Butler fabrics are so beautiful they can blind you to the fact that the featured bags aren't spectacular. It will, however, make a lovely addition to your sewing library and it's great for inspiration.

Things I liked about the book:
- Very beautiful fabrics and photos
- Some of the bag designs but not all
- Full-sized patterns

Things I wasn't crazy about:
- Instructions were very hard to follow: the list notations crossed sections, there wasn't much formatting, very few photos for reference and the light-colored, tiny font was very difficult to read

I successfully constructed my second bag (the Blossom) from this book after making my first bag from "The Bag Making Bible". Comparing the two, I liked the first bag better from a structural perspective. I wasn't very satisfied with the Blossom bag's pocket structure although aesthetically it turned out okay.

This book is full of Bags for ALL seasons and uses. There are a number of different styles with patterns included. The instructions are easy to follow and I think anyone with some sewing experience can produce bags they would be thrilled to carry or give away as gifts.

Do not buy this as an ebook!!! To print the pages yourself takes hours and hours to cut out and tape together the pattern pieces. Spend the extra money and buy the hardcover. The book itself is great, but I ended up buying it twice because I bought the ebook first.
