A LINGERIE MYSTERY of sorts, Nov 2 2010
By Lori Caswell "dollycas" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: An Uplifting Murder (Mass Market Paperback)
In this edition Josie is mystery shopping at a high end lingerie store. Very pricey undergarments. She is more than surprised to find her old high school gym teacher Mrs. Hayes as manager and "self appointed C-cup counselor". To make things even more uncomfortable (Josie was very nervous about undressing in front of a stranger.) an extremely snotty high school classmate bounds into the store while Josie is there slinging accusations and insults like bullets from a gun.
Josie is shocked but not totally surprised to find the classmate later, dead in the handicapped stall in the woman's bathroom. The real bombshell drops when her former teacher is arrested for the murder. As secrets are revealed Josie finds the victim has many more enemies than friends, she just has to uncover which enemy had the most to lose and the most to gain and she sets out to "bust" the real killer.
I LOVED IT!!!!!
This series is so much fun. Josie, her family and friends are such wonderful characters you are sure to love, and the author always colors the victim as someone you just love to hate. She always blends friendship, family, mystery, humor and romance perfectly. When you finish one story you can't wait to start the next. Pumped For Murder will be out in May 2011. I can't wait!!

Another Good Josie Marcus Story, Nov 8 2010
By D. Bell "Imzadi" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: An Uplifting Murder (Mass Market Paperback)
Life is a little better for Josie Marcus in this book. She has a boyfriend, a very nice veterinarian who treats her like a lady. Her relationship with her mother is improving. She has a great supportive friend, Alyce, who is always there for her. And sweet little Amelia is growing up; she reminds me very much of Richard Castle's daughter Alex from the television show Castle. Amelia is taking cooking lessons from her grandmother and has quite a talent for it. Josie's also getting some pretty decent mystery shopping gigs.
Her newest shopping trip is to Desiree Lingerie, a high-end lingerie store, her friend Alyce in tow, with the promise of new lingerie as well as her shopping pay. The store manager. Laura Ferguson, is her former high school gym teacher, who came to her aid when mean girls were teasing her about her flat chest. She is no longer teaching, thanks to one of those mean girls. And who should drop into the store but the worst of them all, Francie! After being nasty to both Laura & Josie, she takes off. And who but Josie finds her dead in the handicapped stall in the mall's ladies' room!
Josie, aided by Alyce, begins to investigate when Laura is arrested for murder. She checks out the two salesclerks and a man who came by to pick up an order. Meanwhile, Amelia is ready for her first bra, which leads to another trip to Desiree.
It becomes more imperative for Josie to find the real killer because Laura's daughter Kate is having a problem pregnancy and needs her mother with her.
A new character is introduced--Officer Doris Norris--who I hope will become a regular character in the series. She tries unsuccessfully to get Josie to stop her investigation, but of course she won't succeed.
There is a new animal as well, as they end up adopting a shih tzu that has been abandoned. Although Jane doesn't want him at first, she quickly comes to love him.
The last chapter tells what happened to all the major characters after the killer has been apprehended. All's well for everyone except the guilty party.
If you've liked the other books, you will enjoy this one.

SIXTH BOOK OF THE MYSTERY SHOPPER SERIES, Nov 28 2010
By ITZME "JEANNE" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: An Uplifting Murder (Mass Market Paperback)
Sixth book in the Mystery Shopper series. Josie Marcus and her friend Alyce are doing a shoppers' inspection at a fancy lingerie shop in the mall. After shopping, they discover the dead body of a "friend" of Josies from high school in the handicap stall of the mall. Frankie Angel is the deceased. Frankie has not led the life as a "nice person". Josie and her boyfriend, veternarian Ted set out to find the killer. Fun Romp.
