The first time I heard of Micah, he was opening for Crooked Fingers at a small brewery in my hometown. I bought his album and cannot stop listening to it. it should be noted that this was almost a month ago. favorites being: close your eyes, dont you (part 1&2), patience and caught in between. his voice is like a rocky gravel road. full of cracks but rich and real. he provokes a sadness and longing that i've found in few places.everyone who's been in love and then out again should buy this album.

Moving themed album of heartbroken love gone wrong, inseperable from Hinson's own real life suffering & struggle, as deep and affecting as Richard Buckner's Devotion & Doubt (although lyrically less prfound), of a sustained melancholic mood but lifted by the varied intrumentation and by the quality of the melodys

On this Abileene Texas singer songwriter's debut full length, less is more. Hinsons haunting vcocals and beautiful guitar arrangements provide the perfect soundtrack to hangover induced hazy mornings. A solid follow-up to his debut ep (re-released by Jade Tree last fall), Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress is an exciting progression in the career of this highly talented performer. Check it out.
