5.0 out of 5 stars Great anime! Jan. 18 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I bought this anime based of reviews of what my friends had told me. That is was a good anime with an interesting plot and some good humor. And with that information in hand I went in blind.

I was not disappointed!

This anime is a fun watch with just the right mix of plot and side stories with a good dose of humor. All finished off with an ending that leaves you thinking about your own life choices.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's surreal Jan. 7 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I bought this for the wife and we have watched them together. It's very surreal but very interesting. It captures your interest early on and its hard not to gobble them and we had force ourselves to only watch 2 per night otherwise it makes for late nights.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Visual Arts/Key story Oct. 10 2011
Format:DVD
Jun Maeda did a wonderful job at another "Key" story of this anime of Angel Beats. there's a lot of great scenes and action and the moments of sadness that made me close to crying aloud, and Angel Beats delivers what Visual Arts/Key sets out for the audiences and if you watched other Visual Arts/Key such as clannad, air, kanon, then you'll want this as its a must have for the fulfillment of what can happen in life.

Product was in good condition, love the series and highly recommend it. One clip was broken on the case, but overall enjoyed good quality and quick delivery, exactly what I expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very sad and very sweet Dec 21 2012
By jakuvee
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
It starts off a little silly, but fairly quickly you can tell there are deeper conflicts and meaning in the story that makes this series quite unique in dealing with an otherwise depressing subject of life cut short before it is given the chance to flourish. How do you accept the misfortunate of losing someone still in his/her youth? The ending song "ichiban no takaramono" conveys the pain and joy of living life to its fullness in the music. Somehow I don't think this series is for grown ups; it is sad and heart breaking, yet so full of love that you can't help but realize life is beautiful, even though it can be so unfair at times. A great series for anime fans.
