5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD Of Catholic Choral Music March 25 2014
By Mark Anderson TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Several months ago the Benedictines of Mary CD Advent of Ephesus came up as an Amazon recommendation after I ordered a CD of Gregorian Chant by the Benedictine Monks of Clervaux (it's called Salve Regina - an excellent CD by the way). The Advent at Ephesus CD recommendation looked interesting so I ordered it without having heard it or without knowing anything about the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles.

It turned out to be an excellent CD; I've given it a five star review on Amazon. After hearing Advent At Ephesus I bought this CD by the Benedictines of Mary.

This also turned out to be an excellent CD of Catholic choral music by a very talented choir of nuns. It's all vocal with no instrumental accompaniment.

If you like Catholic choral music, this is a CD that is well worth your attention. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Angelic Sound Feb. 11 2014

The sisters have produced an "angelic" sound with a beautiful selection of liturgical music that is truly a pleasure to listen to. The sound is ethereal and so balanced. A true musical delight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely mesmerizing and mystical! Dec 10 2013
By Koral
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The voices will transport you to a more mystical, peaceful and grateful state. I don't normally listen to this genre, and bought one for my dad as a Christmas present, and went back to buy another for myself. Great to cozy up on the couch to with a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heavenly Music May 13 2013
By Julie Tang - Published on Amazon.com

I truly must have been Catholic in a past life, perhaps a Nun even (now that is a thought)

All aside though, this is a beautiful recording and is a worthy addition to any collection. I really cannot comment too much as I am just a recent convert to this style of music (Hildegard von Bingen) and cannot understand a word being sung. Yet, it is so calming and peaceful and just fills my being with joy. I am sure my inner spirit dances in glee whenever I take the time to really listen and feel the music. This is not background music, at least not for me. Its enchanting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Mixtape to God May 8 2013
By Joey - Published on Amazon.com

The Sisters of Mary Queen of the Apostles have voices like angels! I heard a preview of these songs on "Busted Halo" and ordered this and their Advent album within seconds. At 45 minutes it is a fantastic length to use to enrich evening prayers.

"Te Joseph Celebrant", "Duo Seraphim" and "O God of Loveliness" are my favorite three songs, though they are all fantastic!

It goes without saying you do not have to be Roman Catholic (or of any particular faith for that matter) to enjoy this disc; two thumbs up from this Episcopalian!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brings Palpable Peace Way Better Than Pot! June 13 2013

Ok, I am not sure if you will believe this or not,
but I promise you "on a stack of Bibles"(as my brothers and I used to say)
this CD had such a noticeable affect on me that my boss thought I had been "smoking pot" while on the way to work!
That is really funny because he has known me for almost 40 years and knows I have never smoked pot! hahahaaaaaaaaa!
I just had to share that with all of you who read reviews!
This is the 7th of these CDs I am buying - everyone I have given it to absolutely loves it! And if you don't understand Latin (which I don't) buy it anyway! There's an insert that has all the words in both Latin and English, and some of the songs are in English as well. They sing one of the most heavenly renditions of "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence" I have ever heard.
Listen to this and let the Peace of God enter in through the prayerful song of these holy women who Love the One they are singing to. Blessings to you!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Tonic for the Soul May 27 2013
By Thomas M. Loarie - Published on Amazon.com
I have recently discovered the Benedictines of Mary Queen of Apostles and their superb sacred music. Sacred music, as intended by its many composers, creates an otherworldly experience. The Benedictines take sacred music well beyond that. One feels he/she is in the company of angels. The music has extraordinarily beautiful harmony and delivers a great message - to both believers and, I am sure, non-believers. One cannot help but be deeply touched by these nuns and what they have produced.

The album producer transports you directly to the Benedictine's chapel where the music was recorded. Each album captures the spirit of these prayerful, contemplative nuns.

I suspect that listeners, once introduced to the Benedictines and their music, will not stop with the purchase of one album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invite the Spirit! June 7 2013
By Roz Narcowich - Published on Amazon.com

I have not taken this CD out of my car since I got it! I bought two CD's, so I could give a copy to a close friend who has an autistic child. He loves the music and finds the voices soothing. I can feel the Spirit with me while listening, and open myself to that peace to be with me in my travels. I love, love, love this CD!
