Far from it. Nightwish themselves will tell you that. But that does not mean you should not get it. Getting this CD will help you know where they came from. There are also a some good songs on it. But there best work really starts on OB.

Wishmater Falls First,
By Carrie "Carrie" (Hopkinsville, Ky) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Angels Fall First (Audio CD)
I have to agree with a lot of the previous reviews. This is better than Wishmaster. This album right here is the prelude to what is the masterpiece known as Oceanborn. This album had several good but unpolished ideas. The production is kind of shoddy. And some of the songs could have used some work with their structure. Still the feeling and vibe that is implied in the songs can hook you into listening bliss. Anyway, it's a good thing that these good ideas went into some better songwriting (and production) in the future (Oceanborn)... Highlights of this CD are 'Beauty and the Beast' - lyrically telling the store of, well of course, Beauty and the Beast! It has one of the most emotional and catchiest riffs in it which perfectly accents the duet male and female vocals. And then of course we have Elvenpath, an insanely catchy tune with lots of ideas swimming around in it. I also love Tarja's vocal performance on Elvenpath. The rest of this album is still great, though. Definitely something for a Nightwish fan to purchase.
