Book Description

Have you ever wondered why you keep seeing butterflies or dream about deer? "Animal Messages" is a unique book and card set which reveals the significance of such animal messages. There are 52 message cards, each beautifully illustrated and accompanied by an inspirational message from the animal world which will give spiritual guidance and help. The book outlines the meanings of our animal guides or "totems" and how you can tune into the cards, sensing their powers and abilities. A Squirrel is a sign to let go of the past, a butterfly heralds change, while a fox warns of becoming too involved. The cheetah teaches you to be ready when it is time for unwavering action, while the tortoise advises against change for its own sake. Seek out your animal guides and, whether you use the cards for affirmation or divination, you will be amazed at the insights you gain. *52 fully illustrated cards, each with an individual message. *Full interpretations for every card, plus instructions on laying them out for a reading.

1.0 out of 5 stars really? May 29 2012
By cerwinrhiannon - Published on Amazon.com
I really have to wonder where she got these interpretations. The bio given is extremely sketchy.
Because she spent a "whole" 2 months studying wild dogs she is qualified to make these cards?
Here are some examples: for mountain goat "Fighting for love or ardent declarations may hide
unfaithfulness." Huh? Are mountain goats unfaithful then? Another: for hare "Discernment before a
passionate encounter leads to the magic of love." Hares are discerning in their "passionate encounters?"
There are quite a few cards that deal with unfaithfulness and infidelity, concepts that really don't even
exist in the animal world. Someone's Freudian slip is showing, methinks. Other cards are just trite,
such as for bee "Hard work is rewarded with responsibility and a sweetness that is shared."

I am very thankful that I got these cards at quite a reduced price, for I will never use them.

The art isn't even very good. Porcupine looks like a wild boar on a bad hair day.

Try animal decks like those by Steven Farmer if you want some sense and substance.
