5.0 out of 5 stars Most Thorough Hits Compilation To Date, Nov 20 2006

This review is from: Anthology: 1980-2005 (2CD) (Audio CD)
Bryan Adams' third compilation (after 1993's So Far So Good and 1999's The Best Of Me) finally gives the man a proper retrospective. Wisely skipping his early dance hit "Let Me Take You Dancing", the collection kicks off with "Remember" from his first album and builds momentum from there. Most of BA's major hits are accounted for, although surprisingly there are still some hits missing ("Do I Have To Say The Words", "Kids Wanna Rock", "Best Is Yet To Come", etc.) and some are in alternate versions ("When You're Gone" is redone with Pamela Anderson instead of Mel C, "I'm Ready" is the 1997 Unplugged version, "18 'Til I Die" is a 2005 live version). BA's early albums aren't given as much representation as they should, but the hard-core fans will probably already own those already. For everyone else this is easily the best collection yet, far surpassing the previous compilations, and with the the hits presented mostly in chronological order the listener can decide whether to listen the rockier 80's hits or the mellower 90's-00's songs. The sound is nicely remastered as well, so if the extent of your Bryan Adams collection is "Reckless", "Waking Up The Neighbours", and/or "So Far So Good", time to move up and get this for your collection.
On a side note, the UK version of Anthology has a slightly improved song selection, including the Mel C version of "When You're Gone" and BA's unexpected club hit with Chicane, "Don't Give Up".

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the definitive collection from one of the best male singers around, July 22 2006
This review is from: Anthology: 1980-2005 (2CD) (Audio CD)
Bryan Adams has released the definitive collection and all his greatest hits are here. He hit #1 in the United States with Heaven, Everything I Do (I DO IT FOR YOU), Have You Ever Really Loved A woman and All for love. He reached the top ten with Please Forgive Me (7), Run to you (6) and Summer of '69 reached 5 and Can't stop this thing we started reached #2. His last #1 single in the U.S. was Have you ever really loved a woman in 1995 and it was his second single to last 5 weeks at #1.

My favorite Bryan Adams songs:

1. Heaven

2. Everything I do

3. Summer of '69

4. Run to you

5. thought i died and gone to heaven

6. have you ever really loved a woman

7. please forgive me

8. one night love affair

9. can't stop this thing we started

10. the best of me

All of his greatest hits are here.

My only complaint- where is DO I HAVE TO SAY THE WORDS?
