5.0 out of 5 stars just as thrilling and exciting as the 1st movie, Mar 14 2007
This review is from: 10.5 Apocalypse (DVD)
after watching 10.5,i was fairly sure this movie sequel would be inferior.however, after watching it, i believe it is as good as the original in its own right.there is more drama, with alot of emphasis on how the tragedy brings out the best in people.there is lots more focus on the aftermath and its effects, both on people and in terms of physical damage.but there are still some great scenes of destruction and mayhem.again the movie bombards you with the action and effects, but in a good way.in my opinion, this movie is on par with the original.if you liked the 1st one, which i loved, you will love this movie.just don't go into it thinking you will be watching a movie which is accurate scientifically, because it probably isn't accurate(though i'm no gelogist or seismologist).that's not what this movie is about.it's about(hopefully)entertaining and thrilling the viewer.pure escapist entertainment.for me,both the movies work in that regard.in my opinion,as with "10.5","10.5:Apocalypse" rates 5/5

2.0 out of 5 stars No surround sound, Jan 31 2009

The soundtrack on this comes out of your center channel only. If the processor is put to stereo, then there is some improvement. No sub effects either. Movie is typical of "made for tv" with low budget efx. I watched the whole movie so that has to say something.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not quite the stature of "Volcano" (1997), Aug 17 2011

This review is from: 10.5 Apocalypse (DVD)
Fake mountains and secondary actors produce the formula disaster movie. All disaster movies have the fun formula. Many try to get at least one know actor to hold it together; this movie has chosen Remo Williams (Fred Ward).

Anyone notice the train is missing?
Daddy, don't leave me!
Where are the gas masks when you need them?

A series of earthquakes kill stupid people and as they get more stupid the shocks get larger. Will the quakes stop in time or all the stupid people doomed?

If you are watching this movie I suggest you stand in the door jam and hold on.
