Album Description

Chicago's Rise Against is anything but a single-minded musical outfit. An astounding fusion of unhinged power, ear grasping melodies, stimulating lyrics and the ability to reach audienced in both underground and mainstream circles, they have redefined the rules. To date, the band has released four albums plus a rare material EP, and a DVD called Generation Lost. Each of their past two albums have sold just shy of 1/2 million copies in the U.S. with each album garnering three full on Modern Rock radio hits. The first single is 'Reeducation (Through Labor)' hit radio airwaves in August 2008.

There's a lot of people who are quick to point the finger and call Rise Against sellouts for signing to Geffen Records. Get over it. Yeah, they're selling more records. So what? That's what every band wants, no matter what label they're signed to.

This record might not hit with the force of 2003's Revolutions Per Minute, but there's still a ton of solid music here. Unlike other bands who've recently jumped from Fat Wreck Chords to a major (ie: Anti-Flag, Against Me), Rise Against have actually gotten more political in their lyrics. They're still putting on one of the best shows you'll ever see. Give this disc a real listen and you will not be disappointed.

I like this more then Siren Songs of the Counter Culture.(State of the Union is One of the Best Rise Against songs ever)The strongest releases from R.A. are The Unravelling, Revolutions Per Minute, and This Is Noise is a good little e.p. The Sufferer and the Witness is pretty good too.
