Apple Volume 2 is a compilation of paintings and comics from 40 top Korean illustrators. Coming from different background, the artistic style and medium featured are extremely diverse.

There are plenty of single page splashes and character design portraits between the multiple short story comics. While some stories are great, some just makes no sense to me. Sometimes, I never can quite get the Korean/Japanese stories they are trying to tell.

Also, some stories come with a "to be continued" but I found out that some stories from Volume 1 are not continued in this volume.

Treat this book more like an art book rather than a graphic novel and you won't be disappointed. Even the comic panels are lavishly painted.

A weird yet nice artbook/manga showcaser Jan. 1 2010
By Kenji - Published on Amazon.com

This book has really nice art that are all fully colored.
It also has comics in it as well that are not the usual ones you would see in a bookstore.
But basically its more of an art book when you boil it down to its core.
If your a person who likes art and is somewhat of an explorer in trying to view new things, this book is for you.
However I advise that you be 16 and up if you do purchase this product.

A superb issue of the apple volumes I've come to expect. Amazing art, also helped me complete my collection. Couldn't actually find it anywhere else.

More of the same quality but left more confused. March 29 2009
By S. Jenkins - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I already own volume 1 of this anthology, but I'm left more confused since the purchase of this one. It looks like a lot of the stories that were to be continued didn't continue in this volume. Ones that were continued were left at a strange story arc. So I'm left scratching my head now.

There are some other stories that caught my interest, but if you're going to continue them and so far apart, please make sure these artists follow up! The time between releases will otherwise leave readers highly confused and looking for stories by artists who turned out to be flakes.

Having said that, it still gets high marks because the quality is still rather nice. Since the stories seem to be perplexing, it's almost more of a Korean Concept Art/Art Book.

The book also features an index of the artists who have contributed, but it's a shame these days artists are so fickle or lax with their web sites. Quite a few were down that I was interested in seeing more of their work, or some have made rather...unfriendly user designed pages.

I'll be nice though since I'm sure a lot of these artists are doing industry jobs and probably don't have the time to update their sites or blogs.

I will still probably purchase another volume (volume 3), we'll have to see if they resolve some issues with continuity. I can't blame the translating company, Udon for these issues with the artists.
