Product was purchased from Amazon Canada, paid for in Canadian dollars. I thought all charges were complete when purchased.

When it arrived, it was provided by a US supplier and I was subject to import charges that I was not expecting.

Had I known up front that there would be additional charges, I would have either expected them or reconsidered my purchase.

Excellent portable computer/camera/MP3/video recorder/net surfer etc. etc.
Apple Store is selling this item at $ 299 cdn.

Why is Amazon still charging the higher prices?

The iPod Touch is definitely the best type of iPod and this model continues to prove that statement. Although it doesn't make sense to buy this product right now because the fifth generation is out at the same price, there are still some things that should be reviewed about it.

One of the things I like most about the iPod Touch is the design. The front looks really nice and the back also shines and you can use it as a mirror. The iPod Touch is super thin, and all the buttons are conveniently located so you can easily press them. In terms of what you get on the design. Well, there is the home button, front and rear facing cameras, 30-pin dock plug, headphone jack, volume up/down, and lock button. There is also a speaker. Overall, this is a nice selection of ports and make the product quite decent. When you first turn it on, you can just go ahead and go through the super-simple setup process to set up the device. After that, just start using it. Unfortunately, the out of the box functionality really isn't that great, so be sure to download stuff from the app store to enhance your experience. In terms of iOS, 6.0 is running fine on my iPod, but I do notice lag on mine because I have a lot (+300) installed on it. If you are the average user, it should run buttery smooth and you should enjoy the experience. In terms of putting music on it, it's super simple with iTunes, which just got updated, so I had no problems there. I really like how well apps run on the iPod and that the home button is really the only button you need. I also find the mail client on the iPod to be quite nice, and the iCloud features integrate seamlessly with the operating system.

I found the iPod touch exactly as I expected. In fact, it was better than expected because it was a gift to my son and he had a car accident on the 1st of January and the iPod stayed in the car and in below 0 degrees for 5 days and is working fine.

The delivery was also very quick. So, I'm very satisfied with the results.

With the Touch 5 due out in less than a week, and the listed price for the Touch 4 still showing the full price this is a long way from a good price.

Most sites including Apple.ca are now showing the Touch 4 at $199 and $249 Almost 100.00 cheaper for the top 4.

Calling the 4 the Newest model is technically correct but a more factual statement would be just "4th Generation". UPS says my 5 will be delivered on 30 Oct

Neat little gadget. I've already spent many hours playing with mine, trying to figure out all it can do. One problem I've run into and haven't yet been able to solve is how to merge playlists. Music downloaded from iTunes goes onto a list called recently purchased, but if you try to load music from a CD, it either doesn't go on the ipod at all, or goes onto a different playlist; and I still haven't figured out how to merge playlists. I suspect this is set up so you only buy music from iTunes (an Apple company) and I resent the attempt to manipulate me that way.

I've purchased this Ipod Touch 32gb 4th generation for my daughter birthday and she's more than happy with the device, work flawlessly and pay a very reasonable price for it. The package as been shipped very fast and arrive to me a few days later in great condition and packaging. This is the first Apple product that I've purchase (except a small nano Ipod) and I understand why this company is one of the leader in the industry, their products are great quality and work perfectly.

It's like holding the universe in my pocket. I love being notified about emails. Pointless checking is history.

Apps like Shazam and Midomi - you sing into the phone and it tells you what you're singing (No more wondering `What is that tune in my head?') it's extraodinary.

As for download games - I was playing Blade Dash on it for about two hours last night. I felt like I was back in the arcade it's so good!

Music - it's an Ipod, we know it's good for that ;)

And as for reading - well, I downloaded Bram Stoker's Dracula. I'm now reading on the Ipod :)

Amazing. Five stars!
