Bruckner handles the obscure books of the minor prophets well. The book is written from a Christian perspective, with an eye towards the lay-person in the Church. How can one preach from Nahum? What does Habukkuk have to do with today's church and today's world? This commentary considers the historical context, but also how this text can be applied today. Well written, clear, and to the point, this book is a good read and a great resource for churches and individuals.

This review is not a review of the book itself. Overall, I love the NIV application commentary. My review is of the Kindle Format. It is inexcusable to charge what they do and not have an active table of contents. This commentary is of 4 minor prophets and if I want to find - say - Habakkuk, it will take a while and lots of scrolling/page turning until I find it.

I've been accummulating the series and all have been good even when I did not quite agree with what was written. The concept of what it says and the bridging from then to now are good.
