Book Description

This exciting revision ofApplying Nursing Process- which received aSigma Tau Best Pick Award- illustrates how to use the nursing process to think critically in today's fast-paced clinical practice. An emphasis on outcome-focused, evidence-based care guides the nurse on how to plan, provide, and evaluate care of the patient. Straight forward language, abundant examples, including valuable quote from nurses exemplifying current best practices, critical thinking exercises and case scenarios help the nurse think about independent and collaborative roles in various settings. 5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a book that pays attention to clinical realities!, Sep 28 2005
By Anne Paige - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Applying Nursing Process: A Tool for Critical Thinking (Paperback)
Too many students are being taught approaches that are no longer relevant to practice. Alfaro-LeFevre knows how to grab your attention and let you know what you must know to succeed both in classroom and clinical settings. She discusses "old" versus "new" thinkng and gives sound strategies and rational for moving forward into this decade. As with her other book, Critical Thinking and Clinical Judgment --- an AJN Book of the Year Award winner --- she makes difficult content easy (even fun) to learn. Her emphasis on ANA standards as they apply to using nursing process as a tool for critical thinking ensures a sound, logical, relevant approach.
