Product Description

Praise for the previous edition:

"This book will change the way we talk, relate, and think about change. The authors unpack the meaning and significance of Appreciative Inquiry and the positive revolution in 'conversation-based change' with powerful stories and brilliantly clear writing. It is a remarkable how to book that perfectly blends theory, practice and life-empowering perspectives. A must read for anyone interested in leading with hope and optimism, and creating the future through the collaborative engagement of our highest human strengths."

(Prof. David Cooperrider Case Western Reserve University)

Most of the way through the book and I have to say, it has:

- a great introduction to a well-documented field
- solid analysis of current-state information
- realistic predictions of future-state concepts

Worth the read.

HASH(0xa27983c0) out of 5 stars Lost in the 70's June 1 2015
By J. Rice - Published on

The authors present a new paradigm for organizations and nearly moves into new territory but chose to use leadership actions from the last century. The process reeks of transformational leadership principles - a "human" approach to lead the organization! Still linear and still mechanistic!

Further research would have led them into Complex Adaptive Systems, a truly human organization viewpoint. However, the authors chose to remain with the behavioral psychology of the 70's.

HASH(0xa2798648) out of 5 stars Insightful Introduction April 6 2009
By Shubham Basu - Published on
Format: Hardcover
A very insightful introduction, to the point carrying you through the concept of AI, World Cafe and Open Space Technology. I must also say that if somebody is new to the concept, the book can serve as the ideal insight. Though further reading might be required to delve further into details, but I certainly ended up highlighting a lot of things for future reference.
Hopefully the author will bring in the next one soon enough.

HASH(0xa279adec) out of 5 stars A welcomed addition to evaluation Feb. 15 2009

AI does not take the place of traditional program evaluation - but instead, it is a tool to use with traditional program evaluation. I highly recommend this method because I have seen very good results by using it in my company. Just do not skip any steps in the process.
