2.0 out of 5 stars "The Aquarian Attack" falls short, Mar 5 2009
By Garth One "Galactic savior" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Aquarian Attack (Paperback)
The Aquarian Attack is the last book in the "Seeds of War" series, which began with a group of raw recruits trainning to fight an Alien menace who destroyed an Earth Space ship, while the First book was impressive and the second one quite "thrilling" I also expected this one to be a thrill tying up loose ends from the "Alderbaran Campaign" I would have like to see characters from that second book in this one such as Corporal Chang who became pregnant with one of the evil Cat people from Alderbaran, and their friendly cat like friend Loup Garou..
The story however is some one formulaic as in most of Kevin Randle books
1) Assemble a group of brave soldiers to find the enemy 2)go to the enemies home planet. 3) Meet the alien in bloody fight then find out that was not the enemies planet 4) go to the next planet where the alien was suppose to come from,
This novel basically follows that same format, though not short on military protocol and procedure, the fighting as in all Randle's books are bloody and extreme as we never get a real "Intelligence " coming from the enemy..
The characters however, such as the two main ones Tony Fetterman and Lara Masterson showed growth and develope a believeable relationship,
I expected a more climatic and exciting conclusion than "Our next destination is the enemy's home." I would think one more book is needed to really define this alien threat and the real reason why they attack an Earth ship to begin with.
The condition of the book when I got it was in excellent condition, no wear or tear.
