Don't be fooled by a lot of these online reviews bashing artic silver 5. The thermal paste performed better than OCZ Freeze and MX-2. Just remember, you have to let it 'cure' over a couple weeks to see it's full effect. But I was using OCZ Freeze before and it kept my CPU coolish @ around 30*C-38*C idle. After applying AS5 and letting it cure for the two weeks, my CPU now idles @ 23*C- 31*C. That's a massive difference.

It's better to form your own review than to use others anyway. It's cheap enough, give it a shot.

I built a PC based on the new AMD 9520 8 core processor. (overclocked to 5.3 Ghtz) I also installed a Corsair water-cooled radiator/fan combo, to limit the excessive heat generated by the 200+W CPU. Using regular, thermal insulator grease, the cpu reached a core temp of 60-80C internal temp. (Close to "termanal meltdown", within MINUTES of operation.) With Arctic Silver 5, my CPU (now) runs, continuously, at 28-30C. This stuff in not only FANATASTIC, but, WELL WORTH the expense! I HIGHLY recommend it for any heat dissapation, on any machine! AWESOME product!

At first i was going to just keep on going with the thermal paste that coolermaster had sent along with their seidon 120v, reason being i had watched videos saying that its likely the best bet for optimal cooling to just go with what the manufacturer sent.. it was idling around 38-40 celsius before and using prime 95 it would go up to about 60-63which really isnt bad in my mind considering i had my cpu overclocked to 4.4ghz.. when this showed up in the mail i quickly spread a paper thin layer on the cpu and water block and then put a tiny dab on the center of the cpu.. fastened the water block on and hit the power.. after abit i noticed my temps at idling were significantly lower at 31-30celsius and using prime95 it would go up to 52 celsius tops!

Arctic Silver is the best out there. You can buy and use other products but will not reap the superior thermal bonding capabilities nor will you achieve the cooler CPU temps. I've been using Arctic Silver since it came out and was never let down. No hesitation in buying the same product again from the same source.

Efficiency. An essential product for hot laptop. About 10°C less for me.

I have used this cpu paste before. It has great adherence and excellent thermal conductivity. The downside is that it's hard to remove when you make a change of cpu and/or cooler but it's well worth it.

Replaced on my 6-core amd fx-6100 and noticed a 3-5° decrease in temperature instantly.

Idling at 16° and making out at 35°-40°, I would say my cpu is very comfortable.

So, as I was getting ready to build my PC I started putting the thermal paste on. BUT THERE WAS NOTHING IN IT. DID I PAY $15 JUST FOR THE CASING FOR THE THERMAL PASTE?!
