4.0 out of 5 stars Good for covering a wide range of uses., May 4 2011
This review is from: Arduino Cookbook (Paperback)
This book covers a wide range of topics for the Arduino. There is a short introduction and some of the basics of the C based programming language are covered then onto the "cookbook" recipes. The recipe format allows for the wide range of material and the examples are fairly well grouped. There is some cross-referencing to other chapters or recipes for code or schematics which makes you jump about a bit. The coverage is quite good and the discussion helps in the understanding and application to other devices. This should allow the more advanced user some insight into altering code for their particular hardware. Many examples are to be found on the web also and the references are included. I would not recommend this book to an absolute beginner, there are others that are more basic, but it serves the intermediate user well in building up their skill as well as providing ideas for other uses and hardware interfacing. The web site has code available as well as some corrections to the few typos there are in the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great resource for those with some modest Arduino experience., Nov 20 2011
This review is from: Arduino Cookbook (Paperback)
This book is the go to resource for solving your script problems. It has good clean sample code that can be adapted to suit hundreds of applications. I highly recommend it to anyone who is starting to make their own Arduino projects.

I tried reading this book without having any Arduino experience, and it was a little over whelming. However, after getting some practice with some simple starter projects this book has become indispensable for allowing me to develop my own projects and integrate new hardware.

This may not be the first Arduino book you get when you start out, but it certainly should be the second.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Source book for all Arduino users, Aug 2 2011
This review is from: Arduino Cookbook (Paperback)
I am using this book as a reference text, and like it very much. A new Arduino user will find a gold mine of answers to both basic and advanced application problems. The coding techniques are well written and the discussions of the solutions are really appreciated. Kudos to the author.
