This is a great book that describes how rodeo got it's start and all the people that helped. Great pictures of saddles, boots, spurs, and chaps from the past. Very enjoyable.

Not to be overlooked by any Western heritage library Feb. 13 2011
By Midwest Book Review - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Arena Legacy: The Heritage of American Rodeo is a pick for any collection strong in Western history and culture. The collections of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum contribute to a finely illustrated volume that's the first to capture rodeo's entire heritage. From its foundations to its modern features, this history is complimented by an extensive pictorial gallery of vintage and modern images packaged in an oversized presentation for maximum effect. It's a major achievement, not to be overlooked by any Western heritage library.

For Christmas we gave this book to our 97 year old dad who grew up in Texas and Oklahoma. He LOVES it! He was especially thrilled to find he had known many of the rodeo people who are featured in the book.

I purchased this book as a request from my dad. He was pleased with the price compared to what he could find it for elsewhere. He has spent much of his time pouring over its content and photos!
