Review

"A spell-binding look, by a market master, at what happens when professional money meets international terrorism."  —Richard L. Hudson, author, The Misbehavior of Markets

"With uncanny accuracy, Chambers takes you into the mind of the young-gun bank traders. He's been there and done that himself. But disturbingly, he also takes you into the mind of the fanatical terrorist. Whoa!"  —Paul Wilmott, author, Frequently Asked Questions in Quantitative Finance

"It never lets up for a moment. Fresh as today's headlines, it reminds the world just how close it could be to financial meltdown."  —Daily Mail

Product Description

Jim is the working-class boy wonder who can read stock charts like 50-foot road signs. His uncanny talent has taken him from errand boy to trading superstar. Is he a genius, or a fluke? He doesn't know. The mysterious Max Davas, emperor of trading, makes billions dealing U.S. Treasuries using more computing firepower than NASA—but now his models are telling him that something is about to go catastrophically wrong. The same trading system that has made him one of the richest and most powerful men in the world is telling him that in a year's time, gold will be at $0 an ounce, so will oil, so will Microsoft, and the dollar won't be trading at all. The Euro, the Pound, the Yen, sugar, wheat, coffee . . . all will fall down to zero. But are predictions fate? Or does this cockney kid hold the key to the Armageddon trade?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great financial thriller, Sep 9 2010
By Meredith Anthony - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Armageddon Trade (Paperback)
I loved it. I love a book that describes in detail how things work and Clem Chambers' ARMAGEDDON TRADE gives you a window into the world of high stakes trading that is hard to find. The action plot is fast-paced and cinematic, too.

And, finally, a truly unique hero--not too handsome, not too well-spoken, not too well-educated, Jim's self-deprecating take on his rise to prominence in the financial realm is utterly charming.

I recommend it for everyone who likes financial thrillers. I put it along with Christopher Reich, Lawrence Light, Steve Frey and others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can not wait, Jan 9 2011

An extraodinary book. I could not put this book down and when I do I am compelled to return to it. This book is a compelling and thought provoking read. Movie material.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rare gem this book., Oct 11 2011
By W. Chong - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Armageddon Trade (Paperback)
This book is a financial thriller, the only one in it's genre. Jim the hero of this story has a great super power. It isn't out-speeding bullets or super strength but super impressive nonetheless. His power is the dream of everybody in the finance world and I should know, I write software to find opportunities in the stock market. Many times I have dreamed of being able to predict market movement like Jim can, and the mountain of money I would have!

Clem tells a really great story here and always includes subtle jokes that I really enjoyed. They flow well with the story and made me laugh. I love the big castle setting most of all. I felt so medieval and modern at the same time in the castle. Can't wait to read the next 2 in the series!

Of course the exotic women were very hot as well... ;)
