Boss's poetry is vibrant and immediate. Her work is instantly accesible, and with beautifully and candidly etched images of everyday life, she creatives immediate evokations that resonate beyond the page and into the memory. I received this collection and read it straight through in one sitting, though it was so powerful, I saved a few poems for later--an experience I didn't want to end. I've been re-reading and re-reading, aloud and silently. She captures the essence of New Jersey, such as in "New Jersey Diners." The works about her family are striking and unique in their honesty.
