Book Description

May 5 2009 Army of Darkness
The cross-over no one asked for - or expected - is finally here! Too big for the movie or television screen, Dynamite presents the ultimate "Why Not?" tale as Ash and Army of Darkness meets Xena, the Warrior Princess! Written by John Layman and illustrated by Miguel Montenegro, the first volume of our most unnecessary adventure finds Ashley J. Williams transported to the world of Xena and Gabrielle - and, most importantly, Autolycus, who of course, bears more than a passing resemblance to our main man Ash. Throw in the Necronomicon and an evil little Ash taking charge of a group of fairies (the winged kind) and hey, you've got yourselves a story!

4.0 out of 5 stars When Ash meets Xena... June 26 2012
By Bisqoti - Published on Amazon.com
Or should I say meets Xena's world because she's barely a main character. Would I of loved to see more Xena? ABSOLUTLY! But the lack of Xena surprisingly didn't take away from this comic book. The art, which was the weakest point hurt the book, bad. Sometimes xena was thin, the next page she was jacked. And the faces for all the characters were always off. However, the ridiculous story and all the laughs saved this so well, I gave it 4 stars. Honestly, it deserves 3 or slightly under but the story is very good. What I don't like is no comic books ever get Xena's dialogue right. I mean I guess a version of xena would talk like that but it's hard to imagine Lucy Lawless saying those lines. Anyway, even if you know close to nothing about one franchise or the other, I don't see any problems to be had in terms of understanding the story.
