4.0 out of 5 stars A good adaptation of the classic, Mar 22 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Around The World In 80 Days: The Complete Epic Mini Series (DVD)
Never saw this version before, is a better adaption from the classic Verne's book than the 2004 version for sure. I had to admit that David Niven is still the 'Phileas Fogg' and they really did a good work in the re-creation of 19th century places. In regards to the DVD quality, it shows grainy, dark and dull colors, it needs to be transferred and enhanced for HD TVs if possible.

If you enjoyed this movie like I did on Tv don't buy the DVD. It is missing some of the best parts of the film. I would rate this a 0 on the star scale if I could.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lost a lot of fun!!!, July 5 2004

I watched the same film in VHS few years ago.
It was very impressive and had a lot of fun.
But after I got this DVD, it really disappointed me!!

A lot of scenes have been REMOVED: just like the chapter in China, Japan and India. And that part(saving the princess) has gone also.

If this is a miniseries, I guess they really didn`t have an idea about when and where to cut it!!!
