Product Description

Review

"Offers a wide range of home décor, costume, and party ideas that are faithful to the creepy, eerie Halloween mood without giving up elegance or sophistication...The book not only does a great job of getting you in the Halloween spirit, but also tells you exactly what you need to re-create the ideas and gives easy to follow, step-by-step instructions for the projects. Even if you don't consider yourself to be the most experienced craftista, this book will take your Halloween decorations, parties, and costumes to the next level! --Tori Spelling, actress, author, and host of Craft Wars
“If you love making Halloween decorations I bet you will love Artful Halloween as much as I do. The projects are, as the title states, elegant but not too fussy or time-consuming, which is just the way I like my holiday crafts.” --Craft Gossip

4.0 out of 5 stars Some Clever and Original Ideas Aug. 29 2012
By M. Wench - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
My stack of Halloween decorating / crafting / partying books is abundant, and this book has some really cute, unique and clever ideas in it. There is something for everyone in this book. Not into creepy and scary....no problem. She's got cute ideas that kids wouldn't be scared to do. There are whimsical things, and a couple of creepy things, but mostly it is a really nice, family friendly book with easy understanding instructions and clear photos. Loved her sense of humor that is evident throughout the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Accessible projects but somewhat unfocused Sept. 10 2012
By Scary Jerry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Susan Wasinger is crafter who believes in handmade projects and she has put together a good-looking book. It does seem to lack some overall cohesiveness, as the projects are somewhat scattershot (kitschy stitchery, dimestore costumes, elegant decor and table settings, pumpkin non-carving). I'm not certain what audience this is best for since many crafters concentrate a particular medium. Some projects veer towards simplistic kid-friendly fare and others towards niche crafters. Nonetheless, many of the 31 projects are appealing (and original), and like most successful crafts books, it will inspire the reader to explore.

4.0 out of 5 stars Innovative Halloween Oct. 1 2012

There were some innovative projects in this book, not as many as I would have liked, but pretty good bang for the buck. Good photos and lots of them, good instructions. Overall an excellent crafter's book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some clever ideas Oct. 24 2012
By Patti Flasch - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I found that some of these projects were very inspiring, and they would be excellent for beginning Halloween crafters, people pressed for time, and those who want cooler projects to do with older children. Since I make jewelry, I have a lot of the supplies on hand, so I found the jeweled pumpkins a good jumping off point; also the spiders made out of buttons. The hand made out of a glove was simple and the finished product is very effective. The paper hats were a waste of time, as was the felt beard, but almost every Halloween craft book I have has some useless project(s) in them. I think it is a good addition to a Halloween crafts library, but advanced home haunters will not find any large props here.
