Excellent Conducting, Sound Adequate May 24 2013

Kletzki really gets Mahler and conveys the beauty, irony, majesty, and drama of Symphony no 4. The soloist has a light voice, appropriate to the non-parodistic naif view of heaven, but the vocal timbre may not please everyone, being somewhat mousy. Kletzki's Sibelius Symphony no 2 is fine but the playing aof the Philharmonia cannot match the memorable, powerful, and sumptuous versions of Colin Davis/BSO, Ormandy/Philadelphia, and Segerstam/Helsinki.

Brilliant rendition of Sibelius's 2nd Aug. 29 2010

There is Mahler and other stuff on this double album, but I was only really interested in the Sibelius 2nd Symphony, a recording that dates to the fifties and which I originally had on Vinyl, despite owning several other versions I don't think this one can be surpassed.
