As Nasty AS THEY WANNA BE was banned in Florida because it was deemed obscene and even now the video for Me so horny doesn't get played on MuchMusic or Muchvibe because of the sexual content. Yet, I don't see what all the controversy was about. Luther Campbell is only singing about sex. I really don't think it's a big deal.

Compared to some of the music that's available now- this is mild.

Well, I'd highly recommend this album especially for the song, Me SO HORNY. THAT ONE SONG ALONE IS WORTH BUYING THE ALBUM!!

These guys were vulgar to be sure but their music had surprising soul and humor and was more fun than a lot of rap music of today! Not recommended for children though! DEFINITELY AN ADULTS ONLY PARTY!

This must be one of my favorite old school rap cds of all time. The beats are really good and rapping flows with the raw lyrics. Not many rap groups could be as good as this group.I would recommend this to any fan of real rap and not fake sell out rap like 50 cent and eminem.

In '89, Broward County just didn't get it--fortunately, the courts did, and the 2 Live lawsuit got laughed out of court. It's listed as a rap record, but you could easily find it in the comedy section if you looked hard enough.
This isn't offensive--but what it is is some of the best rhymes, and best scratching this side of Eric B. & Rakim since... well, it still holds up. I was bumpin' "Me So Horny" the other night, and everybody got their freak flag out. When a 14 year old rap song still works after all this time, that says more than I ever could.
The follow-up "Banned In The U.S.A." isn't nearly as good, but it's better than the edited version of "Nasty...".

As Nasty as They Wanna be is the greatest hip hop record in my opinion. If if was not for this record in 1989 ( I was like 12 years old), I would have not truly become to love hip hop. I would recommend this record to any newbe in the hip hop world... you must appreciate the old stuff as well as bumb the new school. Peace.

2 live crew wrote the booik on porn rap, this is nasty, and this was the cd that was banned back in 89, we did'ny care cause we still bought it, played it, got our freak on whatever, there was plenty of music from rap, and rock that was obscene at the time but luke and the crew was banned.still a booty shaking classic.

... luke and his boys wrote the rap book about sexually lyrics, this is like all of 2 live crew's cd's this is legendary for this is the cd that caused controversy, there is plenty of music just as obscene as this, i say take everybody to court on this. luke don't stop,if madonna can kiss women, ... you know the deal.
