Great way to put it into practice the pile of big ideas conveyed in the book, "Ask and it is Given." Every card has a simple statement on the front that summarizes a concept from the book. There's a paragraph on the back of each card with a bit of discussion about the card.
If you haven't read the book, you would probably get something out of the deck on its own, but you'll get 100x more if you read the book first. And it's such an incredible book, it's a Must Read anyway.
I'm a professional tarot reader and I love ending my readings by letting my client pick a couple cards from this deck. I tell the person before hand what the deck is and that the cards will offer them some sort of advice/lesson on how to manifest the life they desire. Once they pick their cards, I explain the lessons to them. I don't rely on the paragraphs on the back of the cards, although I sometimes skim over them to refresh my memory.

Wonderful!Sept. 13 2006

"You will experience an enhancing of your personal power, which may, at first, seem illogical or even magical, as the Energy Stream from which these cards have come dovetails with the true essence of your own being. As you return for frequent visits to these beautiful cards, you will begin to notice a definite closing of the gap between where you are and where you want to be on all subjects that are important to you." - From the authors
Since the mid-80's, Esther and Jerry Hicks have brought forth the teachings of an evolved set of beings known as Abraham. Instructing humanity on well-being and the Law of Attraction, Abraham/Hicks have created a 60-card deck based on their bestselling book Ask and It Is Given.
The Ask and It Is Given Cards feature vibrant, whimsical images accompanied by a particular idea, while the back of the card elaborates further on a subject. Here are a few of the empowering teachings found in this deck:
I Won't Put Those Unwanted Ingredients in My Pie - Imagine yourself as a chef in an extremely well-stocked kitchen where there are many ingredients that are not appropriate for your creation, but you feel no discomfort about their existence. You simply utilize the ingredients that will enhance *your* creation--and you leave the ingredients that are not appropriate for your creation out of your pie.
My Greatest Gift to Give Is My Happiness - The greatest gift that you could ever give is your own happiness. When you are in a state of joy or appreciation, you are connected to the Stream of Source Energy that is truly who-you-are--and anything or anyone that you are holding as you object of attention benefits from your attention.
Why Does My Saying No to It Mean Saying Yes to It? - When you give attention to something you desire and say yes to it, you are including it in your vibration. But when you look at something you do not want and say no to it, you are including it in your vibration. You cannot exclude anything that you are giving your attention to.
There Is Evolutionary Value in My Personal Preferences - Do not underestimate the value of your preferences, for the evolution of your planet depends upon those of you on the Leading Edge of thought continuing to fine-tune your desires. And the contrast, or variety, provides the perfect environment for the formation of your personal preferences.
The Ask and It Is Given Cards sparkle with possibility and anticipation, inviting humanity to discover the power of intention/attention. The positive vibes ooze off these cards as Abraham's metaphysical wisdom speaks to our Highest Self about the art of allowing.
This deck also describes how to pay attention to your feelings, using them as a gauge for your current level of attraction. In addition, these lovely cards show how to gently guide thoughts, as well as align with the ever-present flow of well-being.

The Deck Is Stacked In Your FavorOct. 12 2006

I bought these cards on a whim because I'm not a big fan of "card decks". I know that a lot of people use these decks to meditate upon or get a glimpse of what their soul might be telling them, but I have always preferred to just sit as quietly as I could and see what bubbled up from within. If for some reason the "inner chatter" was too loud and I couldn't get still, I'd close my eyes and pick a book from my library and once I had the book in my hand, and with eyes still closed,I would open the book to any page and after I selected my page, I'd open my eyes and read the first thing my eyes fell upon. I noticed that I always read exactly what I needed to hear...maybe I always do...maybe most of the time I am just plain stubborn and I think I know more than my soul. As one of my mentor's might say, "Your arrogance is your ignorance and your ignorance is your arrogance...."
But I received some "unexpected income" the other day, always a nice surprise, and I treated myself to a big sushi lunch and after eating I waddled over to the bookstore and on "auto-pilot" went straight to the Metaphysical/Spirituality section. I swear, I think I've worn a trail in that particular bookstore's carpeting because I always gravitate to that section. I did want to get something from Esther Hicks, but I was thinking more in line with another book, but I need another book like I need...oh, what's that saying...I need another book like I need a hole in my head filled with spilt milk and crumbled cookies...is that it? I never get those plucky little sayings right...but I gravitated to these cards instead.
Now they were sealed...twice...so I couldn't just unwrap them and put my sushi smelling fingers all over them. What if I decided not to buy them and there was another person who had been looking forward all year to buying these cards, buys them, gets them home, opens the box and they are enjoying the cards and then they start smelling fish? I overthink things at times. So I just held the deck in my hand and usually I can tell if something is for me if I just hold the object in my hand, and just allow myself to feel the vibration of the object. Everything vibrates and it either vibrates high or it vibrates slow. If it vibrates high, it is probably good for me and if it vibrates slow, it might not be. This is how I knew that the woman who is now my wife was going to be my wife. I held her hand and the sweetest most endearing vibrations came off her hand. Ahhhhh...isn't that beautiful? But it's true...very true.
So I get these cards home and I start reading them...good stuff, Maynard...all deep and profound Truths packaged in bite sized morsels. So, after I go through a few of them, my best friend comes over. He's an atheist, by the way...he's also bald...I don't know if the two are related, but I just wanted to mention he was bald in a review so I can have him read about it later on. He sees the deck on the table and he says, "What are these, John? Do they put you in touch with your inner crazy person?"
I just sit there wondering how in the world I attracted this guy into my life. "Actually, Jim, they are wisdom cards. You think of a question you have and that you're not sure of the outcome and then you pick a card and it'll tell you how to deal with your situation..."
"Oh, yeah, right..."
So he did and when he read his card his eyes opened really wide and I could tell his "reading" was accurate but instead of saying that there might actually be some validity in all this, he just says, "Hey, you wanna go bowling?"
The universe is always on our side. We cannot not win. Today is a very good day to affirm how blessed, how prospered, and how fulfilled we already are. I know that some of you may not feel this way, but if you leave this review feeling just a little bit better, just know that it was your soul that lead you to it.
Follow your soul, it always knows...
Peace & Blessings

A great addition to those working with the LOASept. 29 2006

I'm going to keep this review brief, but as these cards only had one other review I felt compelled to let everyone know about what a wonderful and beautiful set this is. The artwork is soft, warm, and inviting, and the messages are powerful reminders for staying on the path and believing in your outcome. I have many other decks that I have used as part of my daily meditations, but this has immediately become by far my favorite. I believe this deck would be of great benefit to anyone wishing to improve their frame of mind and lives, not just those following the Abraham-Hicks teachings. I am very grateful to have this deck and highly recommend it.

I purchased this card deck for myself and 6 other sets for friends for presents. Everyone that I have given them to have loved them. When I have used them personally as a daily message, they have been perfect for me on that particular day. I think the illustrations are beautiful and very loving pictures which have an air of joy to them. I would highly recommend them to anyone who would like some love, joy and extra guidance during their day or whenever they have a question to ask!

I like to read one card, sometimes 2, shortly before going to sleep. They make so much sense to me as I use them to assess what is going on in my life at the moment. Each card as you reflect on the picture that is beautiful, simple and thought provokeing many times on its own without words attached feels like a call to feel steady or to mabie change direction in your thinking on a particular subject. Some times I journal around what the card brings to mind. I just love them. Wouldnt want to live without them. Give them as gifts.
