Format: Paperback
True to her form and tradition, Liana Lowenstein has brought together and edited another comprehensive, effective and successful volume of theories, techniques and methodologies for psychologists, social workers, counsellors, child & youth workers, and practitioners of various professions to work with all members of the family. In her clear, understandable way, Liana has recognized what is paramount in all manner of engagement, assessment and ways to assist families in dealing with issues including coping and problem-solving strategies. Truly another fine work of her particular form of art.

TNN-Love this book!!! Oct. 4 2011
By T. Nicholas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I have a collection of Liana Lowenstein books and this edition makes my fifth. All the books are great but this edition is fanastic!!! The activities in this edition are supberb...I used quite a few activities with my clients and the results were simply amazing!!! The clients enjoy the activities without realizing that they are actually working on their problems or talking to a therapist. I constantly advise my colleagues to purchase this book because of the value and wonderful resources. I advise you to do the same, you will not regret it!

What a great therapy tool!! Sept. 6 2011
By Stacey aka Coffey Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
In my quest to be a better social worker I am always in search of tools to assist me with clients. There a lot of books that I find are difficult to modify for different groups or individuals. However, I have always found Liana Lowenstein's books to be extremely helpful. When I use the techniques in my work with children and teens the response has always been great. I have more recently used the exercises and ideas with adults with positive results as well. Ms. Lowenstein's books are always filled with great ideas and activities that can be modified to meet the needs of the individuals.

I like that she has worked with successful social workers, counselors and other mental health professionals to create such well needed books. It gives our profession a louder voice and assist therapists greatly. Each technique discusses the goals, materials needed, description and discussion creating an outline for the therapist. It allows for better preparation prior to utilizing the technique. I think this book is a great addition to a professional's resource library and should be shared in classrooms as well by counselors and school social workers teaching social skills.

If you haven't purchased this book to date I highly recommend that you do. Again, Ms. Lowenstein has provided us with a book full of ideas and activities that can be utilized in many different settings.

Simply a mandatory resource for therapists April 29 2014
By Tiana Russell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I hope this isn’t the last volume, because this book is as necessary and relevant as the first two volumes. I cracked the book open with high expectations and I am glad to report that it does not disappoint! While I love the format, easy reproducible pages and the sheer volume of activities that this book presents, what really impresses me is the collaboration seen in this book. Practitioners share their most effective techniques for child and family therapy. The book is inspired and inspiring, and will help you make individual, group, and family sessions meaningful and effective.
