Yes there are solos. I'm sorry I arrived late to this great band. What is Norway's #1 cultural export? Black Metal.
This CD is what Heavy Metal is all about. There is nothing wrong with this album, long songs, varied riffs with a few lead breaks, vocals are excellent, lyrics are not repetitive. It is a concept album and the compilation has feel. There is always room for more solos and lead guitar however Abbath does a fine job and is a guitar playing machine. Immortal's music uses dark sounding scales and has the Heavy Black Metal quality. There is so much pseudo Metal out there that tries to sound heavy and yet is played by jesus freaks. Immortal and Norways Black Metal artists are the real deal.
At the Heart of Winter well produced therefore sound quality is extremely playable and the good news is that Immortal have rejoined and are working on a new album.
