Too close to Establishment viewpoints,

An interesting book and I greatly appreciate the amount and depth of research that Frank Joseph has done. However, he apparently buys in all too well to establishment viewpoints concerning life in ancient times on this planet. This requires him to ratchet his dates for the destruction of Atlantis into incorrect spaces. While cometary bombardments occur on this planet at least every 3600 years, the cometary bombardment that resulted in the final destruction of Atlantis occurred approximately 12,000 years ago. (Do a google search for satellite photos of the Carolina Bays for some excellent visuals). The diligent researcher who goes beyond the works of Joseph will come to this undeniable conclusion. The fact that there were highly technological civilizations in prehistoric times is born out by the highly accurate Piri Reis map, showing a sub-glacial antarctica (which was not available in contemporary times until made by aerial radar imaging), based on a map projection determined to have been made about 3800 BC. Mr. Joseph also appears to follow too closely the Egyptologist construction dates for the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid at Giza. Contemporary studies of the RAIN erosion of the Sphinx by Dr. Robert M. Schoch date the monument to well before 5000 BC. Of course, this does not fit in with the standard Egyptologist viewpoint, so it is ignored or angrily debated. The main point I believe I want to make in this review, however, is that one must keep an open mind and look at ALL of the data that is available, in order to have any understanding of the whole subject of Atlantis.

How chilling it was to read that Atlantis was destroyed because of the greed of the faction called the Sons of Belial. While this may sound as if it has nothing to do with us today, we too have factions that are at war with each other. One group thinks that the world should be more fair. People shouldn't starve to death while a small percentage of the population has everything. One group thinks that we should find clean ways to power world, ways that don't strip the world of her resources, leaving a polluted scared mess in our wake. There is another group that says greed is good, the world's resources are ours to have no matter what the cost, and that people are poor because they want to be. If you didn't know better, you'd think that Edgar Cayce was talking about our own society, not two strange groups called the Children of the Law of One and the Sons of Belial. But, history is more of a spiral than a straight line and as Churchill said, if you want to see into the future, study history. What I really liked about this book is that Frank Joseph quote Cayce's material and then explains it. I have the hardest time with Cayce's antiqued, Biblical way of speaking so it's nice to have someone put it in plain English. There's even a dictionary of sorts, explaining all the strange names that Cayce talks about throughout his readings. The last chapter is called Last Chance or Judgement in 2012? Joseph does a find job of putting into language clear enough for us to get the message the Mayan left us with. 17 of 19 people found the following review helpful

Best book on 2012 so far...,

This review is from: Atlantis And 2012 (Paperback)
This is the best book I have read on the subject of 2012. Well researched, makes the whole subject of 2012 relevant in history and in today's terms. I have always been fascinated by the legend of Atlantis and this book takes one more step towards the argument for Atlantis and its relevance today. The Mayan connection is fascinating and also rings true to what is happening in the world today in my opinion. Well worth the time to read and discuss...
