About the Author
Gary E. McManus is associate director of the Memorial University of Newfoundland Cartographic Laboratory, department of Geography, Memorial University. Over the past 15 years he has participated in the design and preparation of numerous cartographic projects. Currently he is serving on the Executive of the Canadian Cartographic Association as treasurer. Clifford H. Wood, Associate Professor of Geography, has been the director of the Memorial University of Newfoundland Cartographic Laboratory since its' founding in 1978. A former president of the Canadian Cartographic Association and currently vice-president of the Canadian Institute of surveying and mapping, he is the Cartographic designer /author of numerous maps and articles.
