EXPERIENCE CHAPTER ONE OF THE FAMED PERSONA RPG SERIES! One of the most critically-acclaimed roleplaying franchises of all time, Shin Megami Tensei has recently arose to prominence in North America with the releases of Persona 3 and 4, two of the highest-rated releases in their respective years. Now, Atlus revisits the first chapter in the Persona saga on PSP (PlayStation Portable) system. Completely rebalanced and remade, SMT: Persona allows younger fans of the series to find out what everyone’s been talking about for years, and gives long-time SMT supporters a wholly different take on an all-time classic. KEYFEATURES - Rebalanced, relocalized, remade - Fully re-translated and featuring all new musical compositions from Shoji Meguro, famed composer of Persona 3 and 4, SMT: Persona is the perfect example of how a remake should be done. This definitive version includes content never before seen in North America. - Enhanced for PSP - Reformatted to take advantage of the PSP hardware, this remake includes a new widescreen aspect ratio, redone music and sound, and all new animation, presenting the story better than ever before. - A unique, mature narrative in the grand tradition of the SMT series - Long known for its daring, often morally-charged stories, the SMT series has established itself as one of the premiere RPG series in terms of plot and characters, and SMT: Persona is no exception.

Product Description

A remake of the first entry in the critically-acclaimed RPG series, which gave the world a completely new schism of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. The PSP version features a completely redone localization and content never before seen in North America. Combined with gameplay enhancements and additions new to the remake, fans will have the chance to experience the first Persona game released in North America in a whole new way. Persona is a philosophical game that takes place in a world close to our own. It is a departure from the typical swords and sorcery, and it delivers a tale of dreams, the purpose of life, and who we are as individuals. In Persona you have modern weapons like an Uzi and an AK-47. And instead of always fighting monsters, you are given the opportunity to talk your way through a confrontation. By talking things out, you can earn components of spells the more components you have, the more powerful your spells become.

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Persona fans will not be disappointed. This new game brings to life the series and unravels many questions regarding later sequels in the series. It offers a very unique historical perspective of what is to come in the Persona series. That said, this title is, since it is the first, in infancy. It is very basic at almost every level. In any case, if you want to know more about the series or enjoy twisted and seemingly endless dungeons, this is an appropriate challenge for you.

i got this game because i've been a long time fan of atlus games. I think its really worth the 50$ you cash out for it. There aren't many PSP games out that are enjoyable and last long so i think this game really has alot of replay value especially considering there are two routes you can take. I also think the included soundtrack is a great plus. The music in the game was enjoyable and i was glad to have the soundtrack to listen to for the times i wasn't playing the game. all in all, lots of replay value, great addition and great story

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I don't recommend this game to just a casual gamer. I don't even recommend it to hardcore Atlus fans like myself. Chances are, you stubled upon the Persona series due to Persona 3, and have now become an Atlus groupie, or at least thats how it happened to me. I have come to purchase most Atlus games, but this game isn't worth the price. Quite simply, the game is annoying, and after the first 2 or so hours, really tries your patience. There are some improvements over the original Persona, such as an easy to use map, entirely new music score, and the much sought after Snow Queen quest. However, this new version also boasts an absurd battle spawn rate. Since every ten steps you are engaged in another fight, simply trying to reach a save point before you go to bed is a grueling chore. I find myself often playing for about 2 battles, then not touching the game for about a week, only returning because I want to put a new game in my PSP, but never quite making it to the save point. You also don't want to turn off your game because of the massive distance between most save points; you've just done too much before you can reach the next save to change games without saving. Overall, this game is a big pain in the neck, recommended to only the most hardcore of the hardcore Atlus fans, or people who live for the dungeon crawling genre.
