After Magic Potion received mixed recception from fans and critics, the keys needed something to boost them back on track, and that boost came in the form of Attack and Release. As soon as this album starts (All You Ever Wanted), you can instantly hear their growth as musicians. These songs seem much more thought out and detailed then in their past adventures. You can also note that the production value has increased, as different insturments (unfamiliar to the Keys like keyboard, banjo and even jazz flute) and effects will pop in and out to add more layers and weight to the music, much like in the songs Remember When and Same Old Thing. But you won't go far without being captured by the down right hooky charms of songs like I Got Mine and Strange Times! This is a solid album!
